Made a big country breakfast this morning and then made a quick trip to the store. I needed to pick up some items for the holiday. Now I plan on taking it easy and staying indoors it’s too hot out there for me and I am a little sunburned from driving. I need to get some new sunscreen for the summer that is like 1000 SPF!
KATE SARSFIELD
Summer has arrived!!! Today was glorious – spent most of the day pottering about the garden.
Shannon Mitchell
Going good so far, going to see the littles today, so happy about that. Maybe have a cookout later on.
Michele Soyer
Heading out later for our complex BBQ – making sides and a dessert the jobs assigned me LOL….Only planning on staying a short while phone calls from friends today that I do not want to miss…

Woke at 5am, watched some stuff on YouTube & went grocery shopping at 8!!! Had a nap, the sun came out & I headed out into the fresh air for the rest of the day. Tired now.
heather
Our lawn care company came this morning at 5:50 am and kicked some serious a** on our lawn, driveway and did all the weedeating around all the outer buildings on our property. I love the smell of fresh cut grass and it is such a relief knowing it’s all done! Have a great Saturday out there.
Shelly Peterson
Happy Friday! I am ready to enjoy the weekend.
Terri Quick

heather
Just got in the door from doing some grocery shopping for the holiday weekend. I am stocked up on steaks and hamburgers. I found some great sales today avocados we only $0.50 each! That is a major score and my favorite onion hamburger buns were only $2.98! Wooohooo!! The heat is really cranking up here 90 degrees today. Have a great Friday out there guys.
l p
the day is going well. it’s raining right now which hopefully will help the farmers and reduce wildfire risk all over. enjoy your day and week-end. thanks
KATE SARSFIELD
I pulled out the bed, dresser, locker etc. and vaccuumed & scrubbed every bit of dust and cat hair I could see. It took me 4 hours, on and off, but at least it’s done now. Tomorrow I hope to clean the bedroom window, inside & out and more vaccuuming. Then again, we’re due some days of lovely weather so I may well just potter about in the garden.
Tamra Phelps
I love how all you guys think cleaning the house from top to bottom is a day off!! While I’m over here, like ‘well, I feel okay today, maybe I’ll do one load of laundry.’ LOL.
KATE SARSFIELD
Ha ha! I’m trying to take advantage of the latest steroid ‘hit’! Dear God, if you’d seen the amount of fluff – no wonder my chest’s bad.
Michele Soyer
Tonight I am hosting a cocktail – appetizer get together for my neighbor galpals….tomorrow is a BBQ and on Monday fireworks on the Mississippi – a lovely holiday weekend..

the day is going well. the past couple of days have been crazy-busy with helping a neighbour downsize and move into a seniors’ living accomodations. they just ran out of energy and interest in maintaining their home. seems to be the best choice for them. enjoy your day and week-end. thanks
heather
We are still dealing with a clogged line from our kitchen sink to the bathroom. The soonest they can come out to fix it is the 27th that is not going to work for me. I am going to attempt to snake the line myself that should be a lot of fun.
KATE SARSFIELD
I slept for 11 hours! Much needed I assure you & going for a nap soon. All I’ve done today is check the contents of the fridge and de-slug the lupins.
Tamra Phelps

Hello all! Just back from 3 days & 2 nights in hospital. Still wasn’t feeling over the latest chest infection & went straight to the doctor on Monday morning. He put me on a nebuliser for 30 minutes with instructions to go straight to ER. I’ve been on a steroid drip and had lots of blood tests for allergens etc. The respiratory team have tweaked my meds & sent me home with my very own nebuliser. Mary, the widow of my lovely friend from down the road, popped in to feed the cats twice a day. Very grateful for kind people and FREE HEALTH CARE!!! Time for bed xxx
Tamra Phelps
wow, I hope you’re feeling on the road to recovery. You’ve been through it lately!
Michele Soyer
Oh Kate I wish you well..follow doctors orders and rest…
KATE SARSFIELD
Thanks ladies!
heather
Hi Kate, so glad to hear that you are back home. It is no fun being in the hospital. Hope you feel better soon. Your kitties are the best medicine.
KATE SARSFIELD
Aw, thanks, Heather! They did leave a couple of ‘presents’ for me – ugh!
heather
Last night we had the water from our kitchen sink back up into our bathroom tub…. We have a clog and need to have the line cleaned out. I am on the phone calling companies in our area. The last one wanted $200.00 in ‘travel time’ just to drive to our house! $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ This is going to be the opposite of fun trying to find someone who is affordable and has good reviews. Wish me luck!
Michele Soyer
Starting next week Wed I will be doing scheduling for the volunteering , only one day a week at the soup kitchen and food bank…this will be especially nice when the weather gets cold! Laundry done – my next chore is to take the compost to the recycling drop off, about a mile and half walk…the rest of the day is mine!!
Shelly Peterson
Today I was at the hospital for a procedure on my fistula to make it work better. It went well.
Terri Quick
I’m worn out between the doctors appointments & the humidity
heather
Just got home from getting my tires rotated. I was up mega early and out the door. I have learned to get to the tire shop before they open and there is always a line there before they open. If you get to there mid-morning you will be there for hours and hours and hours. I am making crunchy tacos for dinner with refried beans and cheese on the side just made fresh guacamole to go with it.
Michele Soyer
Very grateful the storm last night wasn’t too bad – mostly thunder drama..
Have to get ready for 10am to do the soup kitchen lunch prep and the head of the volunteers wants to talk about some of us doing remote scheduling for some of the lovely people here who have trouble with that..
Of course that would mean less on site hours – fine by me – wherever I can be of use..
Shelly Peterson
Today was just a day of dialysis.
Terri Quick
I have 2 doctor appointments early tomorrow morning. My life is such fun lol
l p

Shelly Peterson

Tamra Phelps
Stormy here in KY today. Well, the rain was needed, I guess. Got in some groceries, but other than that, not much happening.
Terri Quick
My weekend is pretty meh this week
heather
Just got in the door and unloaded all the groceries boy that wears me out! All the shopping, then loading everything onto the conveyor belt at the checkout line, then bagging it all myself, then hauling it out to my car and loading it up, then schlepping it all in from the car and putting it all away! I remember way way way back in the day when they bagged your groceries for you. I am doing very little for the rest of the day got some good new movies to watch.
l p
the day is going well. it’s a beautiful day here so I went for a long walk just after the sun rose and then dropped by one of the farmers’ markets in the area. now, it’s taking on the usual household chores. enjoy your day. thanks
KATE SARSFIELD
All right, I’ve got through another day … very little sleep. The cats decided to queue up this morning (4-ish) for a decent brush on their way back in … Thank goodness, I cold have stuffed a decent-sized cushion with the amount of fur that came from 2 out of three of them. That’s less for me to inhale. Since I couldn’t sleep, I collected slugs – VERY satisfying!
Connie: The Head Peanut
Ohhh do you pour salt on the slugs? My son Zachary had a school assignment make a commerical for Say No To Drugs. He grabbed a bunch of slugs “This is your brain” added salt and “This is your brain on drugs” he was twisted little guy. He did get an A.
Terri Quick
I just had to run some errands today
Patty Niedert
My day is going well so far. I got to the grocery store early to avoid incoming storms later today. I hate hail.

KATE SARSFIELD
It’s 07.45 here in the West of Ireland and I’ve given up trying to get any sleep. Let the cats out at 4-ish – honestly, the dawn was wonderful! Birdsong, an almost over-powering scent of honeysuckle and broom, quite delicious! Anyway, need to pee so up I get!
Shelly Peterson

I just got in the door from having the oil done in my car and boy was that a cluster! I am soooooooooo thrilled that they raised the price $7.00 from the last time I was in there so now it’s only $125.00!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My car requires a special synthetic oil change plus the cost of the new filter oh and don’t forget the oil disposal fee $$$ that they tack on too! I need a drink!
Connie: The Head Peanut
HOLY MOLY that is INSANE!!!! That’s just insane.
KATE SARSFIELD

KATE SARSFIELD
I’m 24 hours into a 7-day regime of antibiotics and steroids and I feel pooped! The sun is shining and it’s a beautiful day but all I can do is watch it from bed. I haven’t even unboxed my new laptop that arrived on Thursday. The only things on my to-do list for the weekend are feeding & watering the cats, ditto the indoor plants & my strawberry plants. Oh, and me!

heather
I am cleaning the house at the moment and almost done with laundry not bad for 8:45 am! lol I wanted to get everything done as it was 86 degrees here yesterday and looks like it’s gonna be another hot one here. I can’t handle anything over 70-75 degrees anymore! My left arm is all sunburned from my epic journey to Walmart and back. I need to get some serious sunscreen and remember to put it on before I drive anywhere. Now I need to prepare for Mother’s Day this weekend. Have a nice day out there.
Cynthia C
Just got back from chair pilates. I’m going out for yard work after lunch.
Michele Soyer
Just sitting here waiting for my grocery delivery with no real ambition to do anything…soup kitchen tomorrow then no scheduled time in until Monday..Saturday we are going to the ballet and Sunday to Olympians on Ice both shows look to be a wonderful Mothers Day present from my daughter….so grateful…once again putting on those heels!!
KATE SARSFIELD
Funny how just one angry email gets customer service on the line! My faulty laptop is due to be collected today, apparently. Will believe it when I see it! In the meantime, another new laptop has arrived (from Amazon, using the postal service). I don’t normally use Amazon, I don’t think Bezos needs any more money, but using ‘An Post’ means reliable delivery. I’m going back to bed now (11.45am) – still so tired after yesterday.
Tamra Phelps
I know what you mean, Kate. I hate using Amazon these days because I hate putting money in that man’s pocket–but sometimes the options are limited.
Shelly Peterson
Today I had dialysis and had the grandkids over.
Thomas Gibson
I’m debating whether I should finally learn how to make homemade sushi or just keep ordering way too much takeout instead.

KATE SARSFIELD
I left the house at 6.30am, got to Enniskillen in the North and hit the supermarkets. Asda, then Tesco, then picked up some fence paint I’d orderded online, then a mad dash to a loo! I bought 24 x 40 pouches of wet food & 18 boxes of dry food. Total cost: £350 = €405 – ish. In real money that’s a saving of of €800 – ish. Yeeha! Just had pizza & icecream, the cats are ignoring me me, I’m so full of calories I need to sleep!
Tamra Phelps
Sounds like a successful day to me!
Barbara Montag
Early in the day yet.
So going well.
heather
I have to make a trip to Walmart this morning to pick up part of my order that they refuse to deliver to our house with the other items that I ordered online. The rest of my order will be delivered to the house next week! While I am making the 50 mile trip at $5.39 a gallon I will have a serious attitude problem!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
KATE SARSFIELD
What? How can they justify that?
heather
Hi Kate – I tried for two days to get the entire order shipped to our house as we live in a rural area but they split the order and made me pick part of it up at the store. Oh and they also informed me that I only had four days to pick it up! The only reason I even ordered from Walmart was because they had the body pillow that I wanted for $20.00 less than Amazon was selling it for. Never again! In the end, I didn’t save a dime and am still ticked off about the whole ordeal. At least Amazon delivers to our house. Have a nice day.
Shelly Peterson
Today was a busy day. Went to coffee with my sister in the morning. I had a dentist appointment and the grandkids came over.
Terri Quick
My younger got at my fuzzy sheep slippers. Ugh! Lol
l p
the day is going well. did some volunteering and then dropped by the stores I was in to see if they found my sunglasses. the last place I went to had them. whew – some money saved. enjoy your day. thanks
KATE SARSFIELD
More bloody mowing! But, I have to say, once that 1st cut is done, it’s so much quicker now. Did some planting & now about to get things ready for a shopping trip ‘up North’ tomorrow. The alarm’s set for 6am, God help me! Still no sign of the courier to return the faulty laptop.
DeeAnn
Oh what a gorgeous day here in southeast PA!! Sun is shining, temp is 80 deg, a slight breeze! How much better can it get! 🙂
Tamra Phelps
so, I was thinking about how the main thing I’m looking forward to is watching The Other Bennet Sister series on BritBox when it starts this week—and thought maybe that is kinda sad, lol. I mean, that’s the main thing going for me in life right now???? Then I decided not to think about it, ha. I mean, it’s something to look forward to anyway, right?
Michele Soyer
Going in soon to the Food bank apparently they received a large donation will stay until the goods are shelves then out to do a bit of shopping bips and bobs nothing important…neighbor over for a late lunch with margaritas of course!
Connie: The Head Peanut
Michele, you are always the energizer bunny. Have fun. Drink a margarita for me!

Tamra Phelps
Have to get up early tomorrow since my home health aide who helps with housework, etc., is coming in the morning. That’s a big help, actually.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Tamra how are you feeling? Better?
KATE SARSFIELD
Do you tidy the house before they come?
Julia Wilkie
Sitting here without power because of a rainstorm. Our stupid power company loses electricity if the wind blows.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Julia, we’ve been so lucky this year. So far. Are they at least quick with fixes?
Elizabeth Curson
My day is going great &i hope it continues!
Connie: The Head Peanut
Elizabeth, I hope the streak continues for the month of May.
Terri Quick
I’m just relaxing & probably going grocery shopping tomorrow
Connie: The Head Peanut
Ya know a day of relaxation sound amazing. Come get Walter, and I will relax. LOL
Cathy French
I did something soooo stupid today. I got lost coming home from the grocery store. The road I needed was closed and there was a detour. I didn’t really pay attention to all the detour signs since it is my extended area but I kept going straight and endded up in a very wrong location and a dead end. Lesson, all pay attention to detour signs even if you think you know where you are going. lol
Connie: The Head Peanut
Cathy, I have done that too many times. Have you ever gotten to your final destination and thought….. how did I get here already? Did I stop for all the stop signs?

the day is going well. it’s bread-baking day and everything is behaving and on time. going out for a walk this evening, if the weather cooperates. enjoy your day. thanks
Connie: The Head Peanut
Again I say, I bet your house always smells amazing.
KATE SARSFIELD
I am so tired, but the grass doesn’t stop growing so I’ll do another hour or so of mowing. It’s a public holiday in Ireland although when you’re retired, every day’s a holiday!
Connie: The Head Peanut
It’s one of the best perks of being retired.
heather
We are doing spring cleaning here today. I need to make a quick trip to the store then back to organizing and filling up the donation box.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Heather, I need to spring clean. However, I have a puppy. IS THAT the best excuse ever or WHAT?!
Michele Soyer

Another sleepless night so got up at 5am & vacuumed the house, went to the laundrette, home, hung out the washing, fed the cats & had my breakfast in bed before 9am. Fell asleep & woke up after 6pm! Mowed the lawn for over an hour and now I’m tired again.

My internet has been down since yesterday. Can’t get an appointment for service til Wednesday. 😭 Not having tv or internet is horrible. Pulled out my DVD player earlier and my son pulled out his old PS4. Having to use my daughters internet.
Connie: The Head Peanut
That would make for a very long week. Hopefully everything is up and running now?
Connie: The Head Peanut
WOW Kate, that’s a full day. When I can’t sleep that is what I should do. Get up and be productive instead of just tossing and turning.
Terri Quick
I’m just relaxing today
Michele Soyer
All my best wishes and regards go out to your husband and of course to you Connie….

the day is going well. on your advice, Connie, I danced (mercifully no one was watching). it helps to get more adrenalin going. need to get out and take the bones for a walk. enjoy your day. thanks
Connie: The Head Peanut
I love to blare loud fun music and dance as I vacuum. Seems to help.
KATE SARSFIELD
Jeez, Connie, poor George & poor you having to go through all of that. Fingers crossed xxx
Spent most of the day gardening. Found a tiny froglet in a flower bed. This is why I don’t use chemicals.
Connie: The Head Peanut
When we do something WE GO ALL OUT!!!
I love it when I find a little froglet. What I want to know is how they get up to the 3rd deck?? And HOW are they so LOUD?!?!
heather
I am happy that April is behind us too it wasn’t a fun one for me either. I am dealing with new health issues and they are no fun. Sorry to hear that your husband is going through so much too I will keep you all in my prayers. I get up super early so I can have time to myself. I watch the sunrise and read my daily devotional and pray for guidance for the day ahead.
Connie: The Head Peanut
That is a wonderful way to start your day. I love sitting in the quiet and just praying it makes the day go better.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Heather, I hope your new health issues aren’t serious and you feel better quick.
Laurie Nykaza
Today was water the garden day so that kept me really busy until it was time to make dinner.
Connie: The Head Peanut
It’s time for me to hook up the hoses here. I’ve been spoiled letting Mother Nature do the watering.
Tamra Phelps
Well, you have had a horrible April! Seriously, I believe they are on the cusp of a big breakthrough in treating Alzheimers. It runs in my family, so I take an interest… And they have made big discoveries in recent years, can diagnose it much earlier and treat it much better. My good vibes are beaming in your direction for your fella!
Connie: The Head Peanut
Thank you Tamra!
Elizabeth
I’m so sorry about your husband’s ailments, that’s got to be so hard! One day at a time is all I can suggest. Today is a rare day with no visiting nurses or other people coming for my mom, so we’ve been trying to remember what normal feels like today!
Connie: The Head Peanut
Thank you Elizabeth, that truly is my moto ‘one day at a time’ stay calm. Be patient. I can do this.
Terri Quick
Happy May Day everyone
Connie: The Head Peanut
Happy May Day a day late!
KATE SARSFIELD
Happy May Day! I stayed in all day as the faulty laptop was supposed to be collected between 8.00 and 5pm. Of course it wasn’t. Sent off an email of complaint.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Ohhhh that would NOT make me happy at ALL! Did they show up yet? Probably not on a Saturday huh?
Elaine G

Happy May Day. So sorry to hear about your husband. I know so many that have MS. My daughter was diagnosed with MS when she was 17.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Oh Shelly! I’m so sorry about your daughters diagnosis. The Husband’s didn’t happen until his late 30’s. How is your daughter?
