2015 Souvenir GIVEAWAY Day 1

*** Weather Update*** Well, Mother Nature has finally blessed California with some MUCH needed rain and in Yosemite SNOW!! So, rather than take the chance of getting snowed in (with a 3 year-old!?! Nooooo) we are now changing our camping plans. Dana Point’s Doheny State Beach here we come!!  I’m confident that I can still find Souvenirs! I WILL find something!! And no, it won’t be a rock. I promise! Last year when the first of May came around I really started to stress about Peanut Butter and Whine while I was camping with my daughter and her family in Yosemite. I started wracking my brain on how to keep everyone coming here everyday without me constantly reminding you with new posts and such! So I came up with the Yosemite Souvenir Giveaway A Day. You also get to see past Yosemite pictures. HA! You thought I wasn’t going to add photo’s for a week?!!? Really?! Have we met?! AliceYosemite I want to remind you this isn’t a big giveaway, BUT, everyday while I am camping a new giveaway will start. These are short giveaways with only 5 entries each. The prize is a souvenir from Yosemite. Each prize will be under $10.00. Maybe a magnet, key ring or ???? Each one will be different and from Yosemite National Park. I promise no rocks. Well, unless of course you would like a rock?! Good Luck!! And truly, THANK YOU for visiting!! If you collect souvenir pennies, spoons, patches, pencils or magnets be sure to let me know and I’ll be sure to send you that item if you win. Thank you again!! Now, you go enter……… and we are all going to pretend that I’m not going INSANE being unplugged for a week. A WEEK!!! In Internet days this is like MONTHS!!! Okay, on to the giveaway!

Let’s Refresh This Really OLD Post Shall We?

ESPECIALLY, since this giveaway is LONG over! Updating my blog’s SEO now ranks right up there with cleaning behind the fridge. Necessary. Honorable. Mildly traumatizing. 7865 posts to go through. The Head Peanut is NOT amused. What started as a “quick refresh” turned into a full-blown excavation. I opened a five-year-old post and found:
  • Half the images missing.
  • Links leading to businesses that now exist only in legend.
  • A font choice clearly made during a caffeine-fueled identity crisis.
Welcome to the glamorous life. Somewhere in the depths of my site lives The Ghost of PBnWhine Past. It floats through old posts, deleting photos like a Victorian librarian with a vendetta. “Oh, you needed those step-by-step craft photos?” Gone. “That beautifully staged product review?” Into the abyss. Now the tutorials read like this: Step 1: Do the thing Step 2: [image missing] Step 3: Just believe in yourself Extremely helpful. Gold star content. And the links? Nothing builds character like clicking a reference and landing on: Error 404: This business has retired to Florida. Apparently half the brands I worked with have closed, rebranded, or reemerged as something called “Crypto Spoon AI Wellness Collective.” Time is a fever dream. So here I am, playing archaeologist with Wi-Fi. Replacing images. Fixing links. Adding keywords. Gently whispering to Google, “Notice me. I bring snacks.” It’s not glamorous, but it makes the blog faster, cleaner, and easier to find. Which means more crafts, more reviews, more giveaways — and fewer digital tumbleweeds. Speaking of treasures… While you’re visiting, check the sidebar for the current giveaway: 👉 https://peanutbutterandwhine.com Because nothing complements freshly polished SEO like free stuff. And if you love a good find, Freebie Flow is basically a treasure chest of freebies and seriously discounted goodies. Use code PBNWhine10OFF for 10% off: 👉 https://freebieflow.com Also, if you’re not using Rakuten yet, what are we even doing? Getting paid to shop feels delightfully rebellious — like dessert first, but fiscally responsible: 👉 https://www.rakuten.com So if you catch me muttering at my laptop, swatting invisible ghosts with a broom made of metadata, don’t worry. I’m not spiraling. I’m optimizing. Which, in blogger terms, means battling digital poltergeists, resurrecting broken links, and shamelessly courting search engines with fresh content. Completely normal.

I would want to sit down with my Grandpa and get just one more hug and tell him how much I miss him and hope that I have made him proud.

I would be honored to have a sit down with Anne Frank. I don’t know what I’d ask her, I’d be thanking her for being such an inspiration. She was so strong and positive I’d do this same thing and I’d ask her what she would say to Hitler given the chance -would it be angry, forgiving, hateful, sad. ..I imagine her speaking her mind firmly but imparting words of wisdom.

I would choose Audrey Hepburn since I loved her movies. I would ask her who her favorite person was to work with and why.

My Grandmother will turn 100 years old on August 23 and I have never taken the opportunity to sit down and talk to her about what it was like for her to move here from Italy and to grow up in the time that she did. The first question I would ask would be what has been the biggest surprise to her for living 100 years (she has outlived her husband and all three of her children). Since we are having a huge birthday party for her the first weekend in August, maybe I will take the opportunity to have a long talk with her.

I would pick my mother. I would ask her why she did not protect me from harm. Why did she not love me enough to be my champion.

There are a few, I am a Royal Family fan, so Anne Boleyn, Princess Diana, to get their perspectives and Jesus, as he is my Savior, and to see Him apart from when I will see Him in Heaven would be dynamic

  • Vicki Wurgler

I’d like to sit down and talk with Thomas Jefferson. I’d wonder what he thinks of the condition of our country.

  • Julie L

I’d love to sit with Harriet Tubman. I’ve always been obsessed with her and her work on the underground railroad. I’d ask her when she decided to finally run away!

I would have to choose my mom. She passed in 1992. I have so many questions I would ask about my genes, and cancer,so I’d have the info for my.kids.

  • Sarah L

I want to meet Meryl Streep. I’ll ask her first what movie she made was her favorite and least favorite.
    Thanks for the contest.

Wow, that’s a tough one! I guess there’s a temptation to go with a famous person or historical figure, but I might go with a dead relative. I do genealogy, so I would go with my 5 greats ago grandmother. The first question I would as? “What was your maiden name???” This has stumped family researchers for decades, lol!!

  • Kristen

I’d like to sit down with my grandmother. She was wonderful, but died when I was only in 4th grade, so I feel like I could appreciate her even more now!

  • Nancy C

I would want to sit down with my Grandmother and ask her about the war years and raising 8 kids during the rashioning. I would like to ask her to show me how to make her famous apple pie as well!
