• Transform Your Bedroom with Crown Goose Bedding

    Crown Goose bedding

I have to admit when I sat down to write this post about my stunningly beautiful duvet cover from Crown Goose I was going to list 5 ways to make your bedroom feel luxurious. Which Crown Goose ABSOLUTELY should be at the top of the list. But what 5 luxurious things can I write about? I dunno know nuttin’ about birthin’ no…. (wait… that’s Gone With The Wind) Let me start over, I don’t think I can pull off luxurious. I know comfortable, I know pretty. Again, Crown Goose!!!  So, I changed my writing to tell you how I was bored with my bedroom. But, since this bedroom is larger than my first apartment, I figured when I started to WHINE about my bedroom it was going to make you say “Oh BOO-HOO for YOU!!” Seriously when we moved to our home in Sandpoint, Idaho I was (and I STILL AM. DAILY even!) in utter awe at the size of our master bedroom. I kid you not my first apartment wasn’t this big. It’s GINORMOUS (per Alice). I walk in and look at my view and think: Holy Guacamole Batman I can’t believe I live here. It is fantastic to…

  • The Magic of Handwritten Letters: Bringing Back a Lost Art in the Digital Age

    handwritten note

Technology has changed how we communicate. Texts and emails are fast. Social media keeps us connected. But something is missing. Handwritten letters have a unique charm. They feel special like not everyone does. It’s similar to the games at Slotsgem, where each game gives a unique experience to different players. People crave something real. A letter feels different from a screen as it holds memories and it tells a story. Why Handwritten Letters Still Matter A letter is more than ink on paper. It’s a moment of someone’s time. In a fast-paced world, letters remind us to take a break and slow down. Imagine opening your mailbox and finding a letter. Not a bill. Not a flyer. A real letter, written just for you. It feels like a gift. Writing a letter takes effort. It shows care which makes it stand out. The Emotional Power of a Letter Words on paper feel different. A love letter from decades ago still holds its meaning. A note from a friend can brighten a bad day. Handwritten vs. Digital Communication: A letter is personal. A text feels disposable. Handwriting carries emotion. Typed words feel neutral. A letter is a keepsake. Emails get deleted.…

  • Resources for Seniors: Enhancing Independence at Home

a senior couple laughing together while attending a cooking class designed to help them live independently.

As the population ages, the need for resources that support senior independence at home becomes increasingly important. Advances in technology, community programs, and home services are empowering seniors to live safely and autonomously for longer periods. From assistive devices that help with daily tasks to local support systems that foster social connections, the options available today are vast and varied. Below, we delve into the tools and services that can make a significant difference in the lives of older adults striving to maintain their independence. The Role of Home Modifications in Promoting Senior Safety Creating a safe and accessible home is essential for seniors aging in place. Simple modifications like grab bars, better lighting, and nonslip flooring can greatly reduce fall risks, while larger changes, such as step-free entrances, improve mobility. Lever-style door handles and easy-to-use kitchen tools from an online craft store can also help maintain independence in daily tasks. While home modifications can be costly, many communities offer grants and programs to assist seniors. Universal design principles are also making new homes more senior-friendly from the start. Family members and caregivers play a key role in recognizing challenges early and advocating for changes that enhance safety and comfort.…

  • Why Self Care Is Important

    Day spa self care

Self Care is like a magical word isn’t it?? I do not believe my Grandma or Mom ever did anything related to self-care. My Moms skin care was a bar a soap and some vaseline on her face. Her make-up fit all in one little bag. (I did not inherit that gene! I am 1 zillion percent an impulse shopper. I’m a “GOT TO HAVE IT” shopper on social media. Because, I KNOW that new makeup will hide all my age spots, wrinkles, and fine lines because that 20-something girl with perfect skin told me so. She wouldn’t lie to me. I will look 20ish when I fork out much, SO much, money). WOW that just went “SQUIRREL didn’t it?” (If that doesn’t ring a bell go watch the animated movie UP. I can’t recommend it enough!) My Mom didn’t do spa days or soak in a bubble bath. Her idea of self-care was hitting the casino and chain smoking for hours. (Minus the smoking I DID inherit the casino desire gene, lucky for my pocketbook they are sorta far away) Our lives are busy. People are juggling so much now. Add kids to that mix and you’re REALLY running…
