• HA!! Found It!

Found IT!! For those of you who read the last post know that I set out my trail cams to try and catch photographs of the new bear cub that is wandering in the trees surrounding our house. Mama and cub come around daily. So, I put two trail cameras out somewhere in the 10-acre spread then promptly forgot WHERE I set them up. TWO DAYS PEOPLE!!! TWO!! But, I was able to locate both cameras. The first camera the battery died the same day it went out. It had ZIP, ZERO, NADDA in photos. Nothing! The second camera I did not clear enough of the brush around it, so every shadow sunrise and sunset, every twig that moved made the camera snap away happily. I now have 546 shots of THIS!!! I mean, it’s a cool log and all but 546 shots worth? Naaaaaaaaaa Rosie, you are right I am the Lucille Ball of Sandpoint. Losing the cameras and the fact that I talk to myself all the time!! If anyone were to happen upon Bear and I during our hikes they would wonder if I had escaped from the loony bin! I talk to my (late) Mom. I…

  • Well Now……….

Y’all know I have my trail cams in different areas around the outside of the house.  I have gotten so many amazing shots. Deer, turkeys, bears. I love my wildlife photos. Well Now………. Well, with the work on the deck and the new roof being put on, I had a BRILLIANT idea. I will move the trail cams farther away from the house where the animals will most likely show up. Smart? Right??  Then I can still get my wildlife pictures. It’s a win-win right?? Ummmmmmmmmmmm. Yeah. So smart.  Until I realized I don’t remember where I put the cameras. Bear and I hiked around for 2.5 hours. I found one. BARELY!! Seriously, these camera’s camouflage color and harder than HECK to spot. I can’t find the 2nd camera. It is seriously hidden. Somewhere.  Good news is it’s only a 10 acre lot. (bang head here) So, I am heading out yet again to hunt for the camera. OHHHHHHHHHHH wait, let’s add insult to injury here. The camera I DID find??!  Ran out of batteries and has zip, zero, NADDA photos. So somewhere down there, is a trail cam hopefully capturing photo’s of the bear cub that the roofers spotted…

  • Studying and Camping – Is it Even Possible?

Camping is a cool way to spend a vacation, but it certainly has its limitations. For one thing, you won’t have access to many modern conveniences, not least a toilet, and for another, you will probably have to sleep on the floor. Despite this, camping is awesome fun, especially if you are an outdoorsy type who loves to sleep under the stars and drink coffee brewed over a campfire. Anyone can go camping, but if you are short of cash, it is a very cheap vacation. For this reason, camping is popular with students, as they can erect a tent pretty much anywhere and enjoy a vacation as and when they get some free time from college. Of course, as any busy MSW online student knows, there is rarely much free time when you are studying for a masters of social work online. This means that you will probably have to take your study materials with you on vacation, so is this even possible if you decide to go camping? Camping and studying are not mutually exclusive activities. You can do both, but only if you plan your trip to allow for some study time. Firstly, decide how much studying…
