Tips to Consider When Buying a Gift Watch
There is an array of presents you might consider getting for your wife, fiancé, girlfriend, mother, or daughter. Gifting them a watch, however, stands out as a present. It is mainly considering how suitable watches can be when simply showing appreciation or celebrating an occasion. Whether it is Valentine’s day, your anniversary, wedding day or birthday, giving her a watch can be an excellent option as it is something they can stay with for a long time. It is, therefore, important that you have a guide on how to pick an appropriately delightful timekeeper for her.
Portray Your Taste
Try and make it a rule or a code that you do not give a lady a watch that does not represent your taste. There are many watches in the market, with most of them mainly being flashy or golden. It would be best if you were, especially, careful when obtaining gift watches online by being more attentive to their specifications rather than their images. Ladies’ watches are not like big toys for big boys, where specs like water resistance, helium outlet valves, and balance springs are going to impress her. Find a gift that is a thoughtful and deliberate display of your affection or gratitude.
Use Indicators: Accessories and Jewelry
If you may be uncertain of your lady’s style, try using her fashion accessories such as jewelry, necklaces, and earrings as indicators. It may give you the direction you need to start your search for a watch that might suit her. It not only provides a good indication of her refined taste but also allows you to contribute a piece she might combine with her wardrobe. This may get you more points for your thoughtfulness and appreciation.
Be Keen: Style and Size Matters
These days, some women do prefer to wear large-sized watches. However, if you are unsure of the specific size she likes, do not wing it. On average, the case for a lady’s watch may measure between 28 to 33 millimeters though they may also vary depending on how it is styled. You may have to consider determining whether the watch would suit her everyday wear or for elegant and refined occasions. Elegantly styled timepieces are delicate with clean dials, pure colors, and form. The sportier variety is usually made from stainless steel that may be gold plated or solid gold. It may be risky picking sporty watches since, in most women’s wardrobe, there’s a dress that may match with an elegant watch.
By portraying your taste, using indicators, and being attentive to style and size, you can buy your loved one a perfect watch that is relative to how much you value them.
These are some great tips when shopping for a watch as a gift. I had not thought of some of these thanks for sharing.
I think if I had to buy a watch for someone else, I’d just buy the gift card and make them pick it out, lol. I never seem to get other people’s tastes right.
I’m not a dainty person & will always go for the larger face; also I can’t wear a watch with an stretchy band – catches all the little hairs!
Kate, Same here! I’m a large face, leather band.
I’m one of those women who like bigger watches. I sometimes buy men’s watches to get that bigger face.
Tamra, I only buy men’s watches. I am not the dainty girl kind. LOL I also can’t see the time with the girly watches.
Thanks for these great tips for buying a watch.

I have a certain idea of a watch that I like. It would be hard to just pick one out for say someone like me. I like clear numbers that I can see without straining, I like the date on it, no band with a buckle, I like them loose and the wrist band has to be able to remove the watch at a moments notice. See I’m not fussy! LOL Just know what I want.
Diane, I agree. It would be so hard to choose for me. Watches and purses!! Of course that’s why us smart girls print out the picture and causally leave it out with bright red arrows pointing to it. I’m all about the subtle. (I’m so funny I make myself laugh!)
These are good ideas! I know I’d love a fashion watch, good enough it won’t break soon, but not so expensive I have security guards when I wear it!
Rosie, I do love a good watch. I actually have my grandfathers watch. AND it still works!!
