VonShef Ice Cream, Frozen Yogurt and Sorbet Maker Machine Review

I Scream, You Scream, WE all scream for Ice Cream!!

There aren’t many people that don’t love ice cream. One of the biggest bribes I have for Alice is getting Ice Cream!!! I’m certain it’s the only reason she is potty trained!! As much as I love Ice Cream I’ve never made it from scratch. Until this week!! Alice and I made Ice Cream; delicious, homemade ICE CREAM!!

VonShef Ice Cream maker is one SWEET little machine!! Voted by Great British Food Magazine as one of their Top Five Ice Cream Makers on the market (June 2013 Edition)

The VonShef Ice Cream Maker makes delicious home-made Ice Cream in 15-25 minutes!! Not just Ice Cream but Sherbet, Sorbet, Gelato and Frozen Yogurt too!!

Alice and I made the BEST vanilla Ice Cream!!! I used very ripe bananas as the sweetener. WOW!! Who knew you didn’t have to add sugar to have Ice Cream taste so GOOD!!!  Since we didn’t use sugar to sweeten our Ice Cream I let Alice top hers with Halloween sprinkles. I added a chopped up Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup and topped it with potato chips. Don’t judge me until you try it!!! It’s Deeeeeelicious!!!

Making your own Ice Cream flavors is a big part of the fun!!! The possibilities are endless.

MAKING our dessert was so EASY with the VonShef machine!! I kid you not! SO EASY!!  First! Put the quick freeze bowl in the freezer for a minimum of 8 hours. We just store ours in the freezer, that way it’s ALWAYS ready for dessert!!

Add the paddle to the lid with a quick twist, attach the lid to the quick freeze bowl and twist to lock in place. Switch the machine on and pour in your ingredients in through the funnel on the top. Seriously, it’s that easy!!

The hardest part is waiting the 25 minutes to enjoy our creamy, delicious frozen treat.

Alice and I used a super easy recipe:

  • 2 cups half ‘n half
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 smashed very ripe bananas

The VonShef Ice Cream Maker is 1¼ quart capacity;  double insulated freezer bowl.  The freezer bowl itself is 5.9″ high 7″ in diameter, and 5.1″ inside diameter. The depth of the freezer bowl is 4½”.

The lid has an ingredient funnel on the top. The overall size of the machine is 9.8″ tall and 8″ around; making this easy to store. There are only 5 pieces; they all come apart and go together easily making cleaning a breeze too.

This was such great Ice Cream I am already scouring the Internet for more recipes. YUM!!!!!!!!!!!!

WHINES

This does sound cool (pun intended)! This just prompted me to take the cannister out of the box of my ice cream maker and put it in the freezer – wow, summer is almost over and I haven’t made homemade ice cream? Have to get on it! I like making healthy recipes, so guilt free you could have it for breakfast – please note, I haven’t used an actual “recipe,” just keep putting ingredients together, just about anything takes good if it is sweet and frozen! Ditto for homemade pops, too!

This ice cream maker did NOT produce one quart of ice cream! Very disappointed! Id have to make ten batches to give each of us a small bowl of ice cream. Wish I could send it back and get a refund! 🙁
