I know that I keep teasing you with my new house, my new craft room pictures and one day I will do a full video walk-thru. But for now, when I have a review that works with my new house, I’ll share individual rooms. Craft Room Of My Dreams THIS is my new craft room! I have so many room idea’s pinned on Pinterest for inspiration. I truly can’t wait to get up there and start organizing, painting and CRAFTING!!! I can’t WAIT!!! Now mind you, there will be carpet, painted walls and no couch. There WILL BE a COMFY, cozy, overstuffed chair in a corner though with a reading lamp!!Things that I know I need are tables. SHELVES!! Monstrous Maud: Big Fright By A.B. Saddlewick
Its happened, the grownups have had vampire lit for ages, over the last decade or so the young reader authors revolutionized the genre and finally its trickled its way down to the wee ones. Monstrous Maud: Big Fright By A.B. Saddlewick Think Casper and Scooby Doo meets Twilight . My daughters generation has a whole slew of really fun stories like Monstrous Maud, a normal girl trying to fit in to a monstrous crowd. A fun way to address fitting in and finding our place in the world. There are fun sketches through the book so it breaks up the monotony for really young readers transitioning from picture books. Here is an excerpt of this engaging read! WHINES How can a book called Monstrous Maud be anything but funny? AND a great book for the month of October! And again, books GOOD!!! Books that make great bedtime stories for 6-year-old Alice even BETTER!!! You can find Monstrous Maud: Big Fright on Sky Pony Press ♥ Amazon ♥ Barnes & Noble and other fine bookstores. A. B. Saddlewick is the pseudonym for Tim Collins, the award-winning author of Notes from a Totally Lame Vampire and Prince of Dorkness. He is originally from Manchester and now lives near London. Night of the Living Cuddle Bunnies by Jonathan Rosen!
October is upon us!! With that comes my favorite tradition, inspired by Neil Gaiman – ‘All Hallows Read’ the exchange of scary books (with modifications for little ones). Writing a blog is kind of along the same lines where we get to try out fun new reads and rave about them on the net. I recommend this fun book for your inaugural ‘All Hallows Read’, wait for it…. Night of the Living Cuddle Bunnies by Jonathan Rosen! Written like a 12-year-old boy talks – its like being a kid again, with your eyes wide open – peeking behind the veil of childhood as only a kid can explain it. Finding THE TOY each year isn’t just a nightmare for grownups anymore… My 6-year-old and I started reading it at bedtime, the downside of that is I get really enthusiastic reading it and I start to talk fast like kids do – then I look at her like “Why are you still awake?” We knocked out 3 chapters in the first sitting. This is not scary but it is hare-raising!!! (Yes, folks the nut does not fall far from the tree!!!) Here’s an excerpt that made me laugh out loud! WHINES Night…
