$50 Your Way Giveaway March 2026

Here is my little ‘dear diary’ input for February. You know the drill, then it’s on to the giveaway.

Of course, if you are new here, then YOU don’t know the drill. I try to update everyone about my little corner of the world of new and exciting things. (NOW those that come here often KNOW that was me being sarcastic. I’m so boring!)

February ran by quickly, didn’t it? I spent most of the month updating the blog. Working some SEO magic. That is exhausting and boring work. So many pictures are missing. Links that don’t work. Companies that have closed.

I did a thrift store run for treasures to play with in the craftroom and I realized I had not been off the mountain since February 2nd. WHAT?! My car almost didn’t start!!!!! I’m fully stocked with new projects.

Now for the real reason you are here.

Giveaway Time

The Rules: A little of the blah blah blah stuff: This giveaway is open worldwide for PayPal, Venmo, and Amazon. I’m willing to try any GC that you think would work worldwide. This giveaway is $50 US currency.

This giveaway is hosted by yours truly. No co-hosts. No mystery elves. Just me.

I will NEVER ask for anything weird. No fees, no passwords, no interpretive dance. I only need to know where to send your prize. That’s it.If you win, the email will come from Co****@******************ne.com. I’ve learned the hard way that subject lines like “Congratulations!” vanish straight into spam jail, so expect something more like:
“HEY, it’s Connie” or “Guess WHAT?”
Totally legit. Mildly dramatic.

I’d love it if you came back often, hung out a bit, and clicked around. Looking at more than one page really helps me keep this little corner of the internet alive. Extra ad clicks are always appreciated and quietly celebrated.

Clicking on ad’s and purchasing through my blog does NOT cost you extra money. Pinky promise. It just helps keep this giveaway rolling month after month like a happy little cash parade.

There are tons of ways to enter the $50 Your Way Giveaway.
Comments? I LOVE comments.
Sharing? Yes please.
Hint hint. Nudge nudge.

Sharing also earns you extra entries, which means better odds and bragging rights.

Every once in a while I’ll sneak in a new entry option, so check back occasionally. These surprise entries usually pop up as a comment request on a specific post. Blink and you might miss it.

GOOD LUCK! On to the Giveaway!!! Good Luck Little Peanuts!!

And don’t tell anyone else, but I’m secretly hoping YOU win.

Congratulations to: Sam P, Winner of February 2026 Giveaway (be patient, it will show up here soon)

I’m still onto chopping and cooking from the giant grocery order. Just tried a new recipe for brussel sprouts with maple syrup and balsamic vinegar and dried canberries, which I actually happened to have. It is good! Now doing the mushrooms. I made shepherd’s pie yesterday with part of the 10 lbs of potatoes….

  • KATE SARSFIELD

Went to a garden centre and, mea culpa, spent far too much money! They should all self-seed so they’ll go on and on.

It’s hard to believe it’s the last day of March already. Watching the sunrise and drinking my second cup of hot tea. Have a nice day.

  • KATE SARSFIELD

I made a cushion for my noo-noo so off to try it out! Other than that trying to get my body attuned to the longer days (our clocks went forward yesterday). It was still daylight at 9pm last night!

  • l p

the day is going well. it’s bread-baking day and the place smells wonderful, as usual. things are under control and on schedule (so far). thinking about doing some batch cooking later this week. enjoy your day. thanks

I’ve been lazy this weekend. I haven’t even been motivated to turn on the compouter. Well, I guess tomorrow is back to the daily grind of getting stuff done, lol.

  • Rose

Nice day today, still had some chopping of veggies to do! Spendng some time applying for jobs. The complex is preparing for a $2M+ assessment, and will be a wolloper. This will be very hard for many of us seniors. Hope something comes thru!!

  • Michele Soyer

What an amazing afternoon yesterday.. thinking back to the old days protesting on the streets of NYC…Went to early ( very early) mass on this Palm Sunday and now have the roaster in and sitting with my book until lunch!

  • l p

  • KATE SARSFIELD

Planning on another little cycle ride today if the rain keeps off. Other than that I have to sort my shelves of bedding & towels. ‘Somehow’ sheets & towels ended up on the floor overnight. You can guess the culprits!

  • KATE SARSFIELD

I’ve bought a bicycle! Took it out today for a test run. Haven’t been on a bike in over 50 years – half a century! I’m going to have to make a cushion of sorts for the saddle. It hurts my noo noo! Scraped the old paint off another exterior window sill and rewarded myself with pizza – yum!

  • l p

the day is going well. out early for a pharmacy pickup. happy to stay in for the rest of the day. enjoy your day. thanks

  • Rose

It is sunny and cold, perfect day to be inside and scrubbing. Scrubbing and cooking. I still have some chopping to do, and so far made a casserole with the huge grocery order. No more room in the freezer that was empty! Trying to figure out how to get a couple things from ThredUp to fit, too small… but like them and final sale. No more fabric stores to get a small amount of fabric, and make sure it matches. i used to go to a fabric store almost every day, as I took the bus into the city, and where it would leave me off coming home, was a fabric store right there.

  • heather

It’s my birthday today and I am going to make it a good one! Gonna party like it’s 1999! lol Chocolate cake and maybe a few adult beverages. I am wearing shorts for the first time this year as it is going to be 75 degrees here woohoo!!!!!!

  • Michele Soyer

Plan on laundry a quick vacuum around and breakfast..Leaving around half 11 to get a parking spot …it will be quite a day today here in Minnesota!

  • l p

the day is going well. going out to a concert this evening to I’ve been getting all the household chores done before I leave. so far, I’m on schedule, sort of. wishing you all well. enjoy your day. thanks

  • Rose

Got my online groceries yesteday, and it was a good discount for trying it out. I didn’t realize I got TWO 5-lb bags of potatoes, so I’m starting out with mashed. Next up wll be potato salad. Also chopping, peeling all veggies, as otherwise they can start to go bad with a big order before using them. This should keep me out of mischief for today at least.

  • KATE SARSFIELD

Couldn’t sleep last night so looked online for a new laptop. The cats keep sitting on this one & the hinges are breaking plus it doesn’t support Windows 11. Finally found one at 6am! Plus have made an offer on a bicycle on FB Marketplace! Thank heavens for my pension lump sum (and theres still lots left)!

  • heather

Happy Friday to all. I am working around the house today and taking it easy. I did a bunch of running around yesterday and lots of driving. Making crunchy tacos for dinner with refried bean and cheese on the side.

  • Michele Soyer

Finish up emails then 2 rounds of art courses and my day is my own!! Dancing around the kitchen sounds like a plan…

  • Tamra Phelps

Well, it’s been a long day, lol. Nothing bad, just one of those days that drags by. It has been warm today, but due to get cold again tomorrow. Ugh

  • Shelly Peterson

I had a bad day at dialysis yesterday. My BP dropped and almost crashed. I gave the nurse and technician and myself a scare. I came home and slept. But woke up at 5 am with low BP. So I’m tired today.

  • KATE SARSFIELD

I’ve come out in an awful rash where the BP monitor was. I think there may have been nickle somewhere in the bit that wraps round your arm. It’s been banned over here for yonks but I can’t think of anything else. Used to have to very careful about bra straps, watches etc. Doing indoor chores today as it’s raining non-stop.

  • l p

the day is going well. made a list of things that need doing today – an appointment, shopping at a couple of stores. it might be a longer day outside than expected. enjoy your day. thanks

  • Rose

I haven’t been able to do more than the first two entries all month, not sure if that is how it is for everyone. Having a good day, trying out getting groceries delivered. No car, and the town ride service often forgets you, whether to pick you up, or to get you to bring you home. But this expensive between a $10 delivery fee and the tip. But fun to try for once in a while!

  • heather

Need to do some running around later on this morning. I loved seeing the pictures of Walter he is so adorable and has those puppy eyes. I can’t wait to see more pictures of him as he grows into those big paws.

  • KATE SARSFIELD

Had the review of my recent bloods & the BP monitor and all is well! Even iron & B12 are perfect. Now just have to lose 30 pounds, get fitter (which I am working on) and give up smoking.

  • heather

It’s a little chilly here this morning. I might need to get the wood stove going. Need to make a trip to the library this morning.

  • Michele Soyer

My company for Sunday has cancelled – beloved 18 year old cat passed away.. so sorry for them…since I have no big prep for Sunday going to volunteer this afternoon and tomorrow that will be it for the week – going on Saturday with my volunteer buddies and the concert in the evning with my daughter…

  • KATE SARSFIELD

I set my alarm for 8am ready for my doctor’s appt. Naturally, I hardly slept a wink! Had the BP monitor fitted and went for a lie-down. Slept for 5 hours when I should have been doing housework. At least I know that it won’t keep me awake tonight.

  • Michele Soyer

Catching up with all the window washing and outside sweeping…packed 4 boxes of kitchenware bowls and mugs and dishes for the Good Will shoppe hopefully will get a ride from my food bank friend… I have so many dishes etc that I decided to give away.. there is noly so much room and boy have I replaced most of them
I can’t give the food bank or soup kitchen more days this week – company is coming from Pa for Palm Sunday ….and Saturday is the No Kings with Jane Fonda, Joan Baez and Bernie!! and of course the Springsteen concert…..

  • Rose

Wow this month is flying by! It feels good to come out of winter hibernation, and gettiing more done with it being lighter out more hours. I’d love to move to a warmer climate, but not anywhere with lot of bugs. LOL.

  • KATE SARSFIELD

I slept till lunchtime! Needed it though. Went out & scraped old paint of one of the window sills. They’re a cruddy green colour & peeling through to white gloss underneath. Managed to get most of it off but might need to sand it down to do a proper job. Time to have a good scrub in the sink as I’m getting a 24-hr BP monitor tomorrow morning.

  • Connie: The Head Peanut

Head Peanut has been very lax over here with comments. ACKKKKKKK! Check out the How Does Gray Hair Happen post that I just posted. I’m kinda a mess over here. GESH!!! WHAT was I THINKING?!?!?

I will catch up. Not right now… but I will. Right now, I have yet ANOTHER mess to clean up.

  • l p

the day is going well. one of my favourite days of the week – bread-baking day – lots to do. the house smells wonderful. enjoy your day. thanks

  • heather

  • l p

  • Michele Soyer

Had a very lovely dinner out last night and Kate and Tamra I wore those red heels again!
Today is very warm – have all the windows open! let in that fresh air…
waiting for the handyman to finish installing new pantry doors…

  • KATE SARSFIELD

After yesterday’s fiacso of a day, I ate pizza and icecream in bed and slept for 10 hours straight! And I’m still tired but am getting up to tackle a nettle patch before it gets out of control. Our lovely spring weather is to return to rain & cold tonight so outside I go! The indoor chores can wait!

  • KATE SARSFIELD

Yesterday I collected the power mower, got it home and onto the front lawn, It started first time then conked out after about 10 feet. Oil pouring out of it. It was too late to ring the store so after a sleepless night, I called them at 8.30 this morning. They were very nice about it & will come and pick it up in case oil gets on the car seats etc. They had no others in stock though, so my big plan of mowing all this grass while the sun shines has been quashed. THEN … I kept getting texts & phone calls from unknown numbers. I answered one call & it was an automated voice telling me there was a problem with my debit card. Scam, I thought & hung up. Then I tried to top-up my phone & it didn’t recognise my card. Checked my bank account in a panic, but it’s all there. Kept trying then another text came through from ‘the bank’. So anyway, I emailed the sister (turns out she’s in Arizona!) to see if she’d top-up my phone & waited an hour – went down the road to the son of my lovely neighbour John & explained the situation. Not a problem & he did it for me. Back to my house & she’d topped me up as well. Rang the bank 24-hour helpline, the girl confirmed that my visa card had been ‘frozen’ due to suspicious activity yesterday! Which of course, I knew nothing about because I ignored the calls etc. Took all of 3 minutes to sort out. Phew, I’m exhausted!

    • Tamra Phelps

Oh, I hate those texts! You never know, are they a scam or not. I always call the bank at what I know is their numer, never answer a text, lol. Man, you had a day! Nervewracking.

    • Michele Soyer

So glad you got it all sorted out and thank God for your neighbor who helped you right away…here in Mn there is a huge “neighbor” vibe that I have never seen anywhere in my life – and apparently you experienced it there in Ireland….get some rest girl…

  • Rose

A nice day today, doing a bunch of chores inside. It is still cold out, so happy to be inside, but I love how nice and bright it is with Spring! I have to dig out a few spring things! I got my first perfume supplies today in the mail, and I want to put together a fragrance with it. I have extra fragrance from making soap, so want to try a few fragrances with it. It would be less expensive than buying perfume it they come out good.

  • l p

the day is goimg well, despite a late start. cleaned the kitchen and bathrooms and did several loads of laundry. now to make a batch of chili and some biscuits. enjoy your day. thanks

  • Shannon Mitchell

It was cold Monday and Tuesday with snow, yuck. Then today it’s 90 degees and supposed to be 90 again tomorrow. Where are you Spring? LOL

  • Tamra Phelps

Weather is nice today, fairly warm–or at least not freezing. Of course, it’s going to go cold again next week, but Spring can’t be far off! Went to the doctor yesterday, just a follow-up, everything going okay in that area (breast cancer stuff.)

  • l p

the day is going well. up early and heading out the door to a couple of appointments. I’m looking forward to meeting some friends later this evening. enjoy your day. thanks

  • Michele Soyer

All dressed and ready to go shopping it is a lovely day out will be in the high 50’s this afternoon….Looking forward to dinner out this evening….Everyone enjoy your Friday!

  • KATE SARSFIELD

Busy day today and glorious sunshine as well! Gotta get laundry done and am hiring a power mower to attack the garden. I’m booking it for the weekend but have to wait for a phonecall to go to collect it. My own little electric mower needs it’s blades sharpening and would take ages to do the ‘first cut’ so hiring one makes sense. I’m also looking at secondhand bicycles on Marketplace. I have got to get fitter and the laneways around me are relatively flat. Walking hurts my knee so I thought why not? Watch this space!

  • Suzie B

I woke up at 3 am and couldn’t fall back asleep… it’s going to be a painfully long day at work (a physical job)

  • Rose

First day of Spring! Yippee! It has been a rough winter, so happy to think sunny and warm thoughts! I want think of some spring themed soaps to make for the gardening crew at the complex.

  • KATE SARSFIELD

I cannot believe it! I just had a pain-free mammogram, after years of awfully painful ones back in Wexford. The last one I had there actually left me bruised and as I’d always gone to the same place I assumed that that was normal. Got back in time to enjoy the lovely sunshine.

  • l p

the day is going well. did some shopping earlier but forgot something. so I’ll have to go back and pick it up once the laundry’s done. enjoy your day. thanks

  • Michele Soyer

All chores done so I am free to do whatever I please..lol..planning a shopping day tomorrow so have to get all lists together..we also plan on going to some consignment and thrift shoppes – never been to any at all so that will be a new adventure in shopping for me…in the evening a dinner out with a friend…

  • Rose

Oh wow, I see the IRS is not going to mail refunds anymore. Good, but my Turbo filing had all x’s for the bank account, so they couldn’t deposit it. So keep it in mind, if you expected a check, they may mail you a gift card! To me, that is even worse, as our area had someone who finally got caught who worked at the post office, steaking checks, washing them and getting them cashed for gazillion more dollars, stealing gift cards, etc. I wouldn’t wan the IRS to send me a gift card nor a check…. now I have to wait and see what happens.

  • heather

I am doing some work outside today it’s going to be super pretty here and 81 degrees. I am also catching up on laundry.

  • l p

the day is going well. had a surprise phone call from a friend early today. it was so good to touch base again. enjoy your day. thanks

    • Tamra Phelps

I feel ya! I have to goo to my breast cancer doctor tomorrow–but not have a mmammogram. I did that in January. Tomorrow is just a follow=up.

  • Michele Soyer

Was supposed to vilunteer this afternoon but they called me to see if I could do the morning..So home i am now with plenty of corned beef for sandwichs so heading for the dining room to have one…then I have to run out feed the riabblits and take a turn around the neighborhood…My chair, book and a wee bit of single malt after that….

  • heather

Need to make a trip to town today so lots of driving for me. Looking forward to corned beef and cabbage leftovers for dinner sure was good last night.

  • Shannon Mitchell

    Happy St. Patrick’s Day!!
I’ve made Irish soda bread, I’m also making a grilled Ruben sandwich and a Shepherd’s pie, for dinner. I don’t like cooked cabbage, sometimes hubby makes that.

  • KATE SARSFIELD

Lá Fhéile Pádraig Sona Daoibh! Happy St. Patrick’s Day everyone! There’s a parade in town but it’s too crowded and no parking, so I won’t be going. Anyway, I’m not Irish! I’ve lived here 60 years and Ireland is definitely where I feel at home, but not having been raised as an Irish Roman Catholic, there’s so much I don’t know about. Just one example, the traditional Irish sports of hurling, camogie and Gaelic football weren’t taught in non-Catholic schools (in my time) and they are the backbone of all towns and villages across the country, fundamental to the sense of community. I did go to a parade once, many years ago and drank green Guinness. My tongue was green for days afterwards! I plan to attack the weeds in my flower beds till the rain comes. It always rains on Paddy’s Day!

    • Tamra Phelps

I feel like someone should apologize to the Irish Prime Minister for his eperience at the White House today, lol. Can you imagine how these world leaders have to prep before going there these days????

  • Rose

Not dressed yet, oh oh, but not schlepping, was up early tackling things and only now doing the bath, etc. This day is flying by! It nice and sunny out, but still cold. My last groceries was an online order, and I got enough to not have to go to the store or order online again for over two weeks, a time saver, but costs too much to do on a regular basis.

  • l p

the day is going well. Happy St. Patrick’s Day. the Irish stew is in the slow-cooker and I’ll make some Colconnan when I get home. just heading out to the door to take the bones for a walk and then do some volunteering. enjoy your day however you spend it. thanks

  • heather

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! I am all set for the big feast today. Putting my corned beef brisket on at about Noon so just need to clean and peel all the veggies.

  • Michele Soyer

Happy St Patrick’s Day all !!!
My corned beef brisket in the oven and the potatoes, carrots and cabbage are washed and draining…
Planning on a chat with a dear Irish girlfriend later on in the day – we catch up all holidays LOL
all that is left is a shamrock martini to make and my day is my own….

  • Rose

I had made pizzas and froze them uncooked. It was great to be able to take a homemade one from the freezer and cook it up! Yum! Nice on rainy dark day. I’ve been burning a Yankee Candle, Salt Mist Rose. It is a nice scent. Thinking Spring!

  • l p

the day is going well. it’s bread-baking day so I was up early to get some of the doughs on the go and then had an appointment. got home in good time so things on the baking front are falling into place. enjoy your day. thanks

  • Michele Soyer

We had one helluva snow fall! I hope the relevent authorities helped all the homeless get off the streets and the weather…Spent the morning in the food bank and then was asked to come and help with the soup kitchen….After noon I will go in and help for a few hours….Right now a hot bowl of soup and a few moments with my loveable cats then back out to wait for my ride….

  • heather

Good morning, I am doing my shopping list at the moment. Need to go to the grocery store and get all the fixins for my St. Patrick’s Day dinner tomorrow of corned beef and cabbage. I also love to have a lot of horseradish on hand.

  • KATE SARSFIELD

Got more chores done today and managed some weeding as well. Have to say, that physically at least, I’m feeling an awful lot better than I did 2 weeks ago.

  • Rose

It is really cold out today, so didn’t stay out long. Kind of a dark day, so I spent time looking at legislation and writing testimony, and also some comments for out town council, the budget. Most of them never respond, disgusting. They want a dramatic tax increase. Our RE taxes are some of the highest in the country. Need to move out of this state! Sandpoint looking pretty nice… how’s the RE and MV taxes in Sandpoint? And taxes for retirees?

  • l p

the day is going well. the sun’s shining and it feels like it’s getting warmer outside. spent the morning volunteering. went to a birthday party and concert last night so this afternoon is going to be cleaning and decluttering around here. enjoy your day. thanks

  • Michele Soyer

Watching the snow fall – we are supposed to get 12-15 inches in this county…Roast in the oven, swept as much snow as I could from the 2 patios, fed the outside bunnies and now my book and music! Have a lovely Sunday all!

  • heather

Just waking up here and listening to morning worship music. Have a blessed Sunday. Just had to rescue my cat she somehow got shut in the closet???

  • Tamra Phelps

I’m having one of those days where I have spent the entire day thinking of going back to bed, ha! I’m tired. Maybe it’s the weather…it has gone all cold and blah again.

  • Michele Soyer

Once again had a lovely time last night and so grateful for friendships…Sky is dark and stormy looking we are prepared for a time in…more coffee then out to feed the birds and bunnies…It feels like a pizza day today so will make a quick dough and pop that in the oven later..
    Happy Saturday all!

  • heather

Working around the house today need to catch up on laundry. Hope you all have a nice Saturday. Looks like we may get some rain here today fingers crossed. They had to close the local ski resort early due to record low snowfall in our area that is not good!

  • KATE SARSFIELD

I took a couple of boxes of books, shoes, clothes & household stuff to a charity shop. Spotted a lovely warm fleecy blanket & the lady just gave it to me! Within 10 minutes of getting home, it had 3 cats fast asleep on it. Heading out to the garden soon, planting out snowdrops and other spring bulbs that I planted & let flower on window sills indoors. They’ll ‘take’ much easier than planting bare bulbs.

  • Rose

It is a nice day out today. Hoping to get some things done to wrap up some winter-type chores, and looking forward to Spring! I’ve been waiting for some perfumer’s supplies to arrive, to try out making a few perfumes with scents I love. If it works, should be a lot less expensive than buying fancy schmany perfume with a brand label!

  • Michele Soyer

Major winter storm coming this weekend..the winds have already picked up greatly – guttering has fallen down from the roof…that will have to wait..
Spent the morning at the soup kitchen prepping and serving late breakfast.. that will be it for me until this storm is gone…
Had a very pleasant time last evening and apparently we shall do it again soon…
Glad I only have to go up the stairs for this evenings get together..
    Happy Friday to you all!

  • KATE SARSFIELD

Ooh, lovely, just got a letter informing me that I have a mammogram next Thursday. So there’s that to look forward to!

  • heather

Happy Friday the 13th. I couldn’t sleep so I got up and put a movie on. I am watching Gladiator, Russell Crowe is perfection in this movie that is one beautiful man! I so miss the days when they made movies that were well done. All the new movies that are out recently are unwatchable. Have a great day.

  • l p

the day is going well. out early for an appointment and then some grocery shopping. now home dealing with paperwork. enjoy your day. thanks

  • KATE SARSFIELD

We’ve had all 4 seasons so far today! Beautiful sunshine with lambs in the next field, wind & rain, sleet & hailstones, and back to warm and sunny.

  • Tamra Phelps

Tomorrow I have to see the allergist–all those pin-prick tests to figure out what I’m allergic to. My congestion has reached a point where I literally cannot breath through my nose half the time because of my nose being clogged. That is interfering with my bi-pap machine at night (they put me on that last year after the pneumonia, etc.) So, they want to know what is causing it.

  • Rose

Dark, rainy day. Why do I love them so much? I dunno, but I feel this “singing” happy feeling when it is like this. Happy to be inside, cozy.

  • Michele Soyer

Figuring out what to do today – chores and walking workout and yoga done…Been invited out for a drink this evening my daughter wants to snap a pic of his car ! LOL Am I 15??
tomorrow invited for cocktails at a galpals so have to figure out what to bring…maybe brie cranberry bites….
Hope all here are doing well today! Happy Thursday..

  • heather

I have to make a trip to the library today and then the store. I need to do some work around the house that I have been putting off. Have a nice day.

  • Tamra Phelps

The day started nice but this evening the rain started–now the wind is nuts, and there are tornado watches. Ugh. It’s gonna be a bad night. Tomorrow is supposed to be nice, though.

  • KATE SARSFIELD

Apart from doing the usual cat-related chores, I’ve spent the day in bed. Just got no energy at all. Nibbling on wasabi-coated nuts that are doing wonders for my sinuses!

  • Tamra Phelps

It was actually not a bad day weather-wise. Of course, tomorrow it’s supposed to start getting cold again…but at least we had a nice run of three or four warm days, lol.

  • Shannon Mitchell

It’s my daughter’s birthday today. I have two more in the family, come on April 6th lol. Then a break until Summer time.

  • l p

the day is going well. lots of appointments so I hope they are somewhat on time so I can avoid the domino effect. they’re all within walking distance so that helps and the lovely weather makes such a difference. enjoy your day. thanks

  • Rose

It is a gorgeous day today!!! Spring is really going to be here soon. I tried a new recipe for pancakes today, came out really good and fluffy! Now getting back to some chores!

  • KATE SARSFIELD

Got my hair cut this morning, then went grocery shopping. We’re due wintry showers for the rest of the week so I think I’ll just hunker down for a few days.

  • Michele Soyer

Enjoyed my outing yesterday and did pick up a few things.. today is grey and rainy so no walking around outside…Going in this afternoon to the soup kitchen to help with call outs but will not go in again tomorrow….

  • Tamra Phelps

Not a lot going on today. Am I the only one who still isn’t seeing the form reset, except for the two free entries??

  • Rose

Wading thru taxes. Had them done by (won’t say), but so many problems. And a notice from the state about the state return they filed having a problem. It would have been less work to do it myself, and correctly. I am not yet halfway thru, but got a start on it. And no idea if more problems with the filed fed return. Now I google and see many bad reviews. It is warming up here!!

  • l p

the day is going well. the sun is so nice and warming today. a friend dropped by for a quick visit and cup of tea this morning. now I’m waiting for a parcel delivery so won’t be going anywhere. enjoy your day. thanks

  • heather

Just waking up sipping my hot tea at the moment and listening to the morning news. Need to make a trip to the rural local store today. I try not to shop there because a gallon of milk is $7.00 but I don’t feel like driving all the way to town today.

  • Michele Soyer

We are expecting snow/ice tonight so taking a walk to the Home Store / TJ Maxx to basically walk around and then a stop at The Dollar Tree for some Hallmark cards…then back to my book..I am trying to discipline myself to stick to a schedule of painting and courses…I tend to do them both in a haphazard fashion…

  • KATE SARSFIELD

Just a few little jobs to do today, including scrubbing the cats’ litter trays! Don’t you envy my lifestyle?

  • l p

the day is going well. did some volunteering this morning and then met friends for tea. a quiet afternoon was appreciated. enjoy your evening. thanks

  • KATE SARSFIELD

I’ve managed a few chores today, including packing the car with boxes of stuff for charity shops that have been taking up space in the living room for months. Wonder if they’ll now sit in the car for months?

  • heather

I have sprung forward here. Now my inner clock will be messed up for days. Have a nice Sunday it’s going to be super nice here today.

  • Rose

Have to turn my clocks forward. At least last night I was tired, so it wasn’t as though I really felt like I’m going to lose an hour. I got an email from my state’s Dept of Revenue, that my return has a discrepancy. It is my first time trying Turbo, and their highest service level, as I’ve always done them myself. I never had any notices all the years I did them myself, now they are already a problem, so much wasted time. i thought this was going to be worry free and time saver. I don’t know if it depends on the preparer you use. But it has been more work than doing them myself, and also now worries, and so far, cannot get thru to anyone who can assist.

  • l p

the day is going well. out early to do some chores before the weather gets really miserable. I’m so sorry to hear of your loss, Connie. animals have such a way of working their way into our hearts. thanks for sharing Miss Bear’s life with us.

  • Rose

Oh no, poor cuddly, sweet Bear! I’m so sorry Connie. Your doggie reminded me so much of my Old English sheepdog Goliath, esp when a puppy, like a huge teddy bear. Then huge, slobbery, goofy and adorable when YUGE. It would leave a huge hole in your life for sure. No doggie has had as much as fun and special life as living on the mountain, with all the critters, sounds of nature, things to explore, and even just looking out the window, to be eye-to-eye with a deer!

  • heather

Happy Saturday hope you a have a nice one. I have to make a trip to the store today and also the library. Remember to reset the clocks tonight I better start now. lol

  • KATE SARSFIELD

I feel a bit empty today. Made the calls to the rescue centre & choir, and now Miss Bear has gone and I’m lying in bed not knowing what to do next. Fresh air beckons, if only for half an hour, so that’s what I’ll do.

  • Shannon Mitchell

So sorry to hear about Miss Bear. It sounds like she brought you so much joy, may your memories of her bring you peace.

  • Tamra Phelps

Connie, I read your post about Bear last night and it breaks my heart for you! I thought Bear was doing better after the UTI, so it was so unexpected. You know you gave her such a happy life! I’m going to miss hearing about sweet and spoiled Bear.

  • Connie: The Head Peanut

As some of you may know, Miss Bear walked over the rainbow bridge yesterday. I am heartbroken. She was my constant companion 24/7. She supervised craft projects. Tried to help me find antlers on our walks. Watched my back when I changed out batteries in the trail cams (although truth be told, she would have run very fast and hoped I could keep up. Watch dog, she was not. Loveable, loyal, beautiful, spoiled, ABSOLUTELY! The house is so quiet. We are so sad.

Anyway, trail cam Friday will return next week. I just didn’t have it in me yesterday.

    Love ya, Little Peanuts!

    • KATE SARSFIELD

Connie, We’re all with you & George and will do all we can to help get you guys through this. You’re not alone, darling xxx

    • heather

Connie, I am so very, very sorry for your loss. My heart hurts just reading about Bear passing away. I so enjoyed seeing her in pictures over the years she looked like such a sweatheart. I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and payers. God Bless.

  • l p

the day is going slowly – but well. so much to do but the reward is lunch with some family members. they choose the place so it will be a surprise. enjoy your day and week-end. thanks

  • Rose

I can’t believe it is Friday already!!! Stop the clock! And then lose an hour, too. Getting up earlier and going to bed later, get more done, but it shows on my face, it makes me look older…. sometmes you gotta’ do what you gotta’ do. I keep hoping I don’t bump into cute guys I know when I look haggard. Problem is, that is just when it happens!!!!

  • heather

It is chilly here this morning going to have to get the fireplace going. I just saw that it will be almost 70 degrees here this weekend that is the perfect temperature. Hope you have a great Friday out there.

  • KATE SARSFIELD

I’m slowly coming to the decision that I’ll have to give up the rescue centre for a few months. I need to get my strength back, get lots of tests done for COPD, allergies (cats!) etc. There’s also a question mark over one of my kidney’s efficiency. It’s been damaged by kidney stones twice & last time I had a scan on it it showed a simple cyst (a benign thing). I have to lose about 2 stone & get fit and of course, give up smoking. Not looking forward to making that phone call. I’ll have to quit the choir as well, till my lungs are healthier.

    • Tamra Phelps

Oh, that sucks, Kate. I know how you’ll miss the animals and the choir. But you will get healthier quicker this way and in the end, you will get back to those things you love much quicker!!

    • Michele Soyer

All my best wishes are with you – you need to do this now so you can go back to both the shelter and the choir healthier…

  • l p

the day is going well. had to take a visiting family member to a walk-in clinic to have an MD look at a leg abrasion. my spidey senses said it was an infection and it was. left the place 35 minutes later (must be a record), with care instructions and some antibiotics. it’s tea and rest for the remaining part of the day for them. enjoy your day. thanks

  • KATE SARSFIELD

Yesterday, well, there I was getting a bit of air & hanging out washing. I could hear Loki crying his ‘I want your attention NOW’ cry. Couldn’t see him … anyway, there he was on the roof of the bungalow. I showed him the easiest way down (jumping onto a wheelie bin) but he didn’t seem to be able to work it out. Eventually, I got out a ladder & he jumped onto my shoulder then his back claw caught my nose. On top of a wobbly ladder, with a cat hanging onto my face, I managed to get us both to ground level. Went to bathe my nose and all’s well. Half an our later, he was back on the roof! Left him to his own devices this time.

  • Michele Soyer

Half past 9am and did my walk, yoga, tai chi and 2 loads of laundry….all thats left is feeding the outside cuties and the inside cuties….run the vacuum and wait for the grocery delivery…
Glad the music is playing in here warm and enveloping – outside is dark and rainy!

  • heather

I have to do big grocery shopping today. I even made a list so I don’t forget anything I usually try to wing it. Have a nice day.

  • Ed

Just confirming that this giveaway is still open worldwide, as it states Open to residents of the U.S. 18+ when I sign in.

  • l p

the day is going well. thanks for the extra entry possibilities while the form is giving you grief, Connie.
working on the inside to-do list today until volunteering this evening. enjoy your day. thanks

  • Tamra Phelps

Later today, I have a doctor’s appointment (just a regular follow-up.) Thought I’d check the entry form–the daily bonus entries at the top are resetting, but the daily comment and daily word entries are not. Weird, right???

  • KATE SARSFIELD

I have slept for 10 hours straight! Finally woken up by Loki, the tabby, pulling at my hair while Bryn & Mellyn sat on the pillows watching on! Got them fed, took my brekkie back to bed and now we’re all settling back for a nap.

  • Michele Soyer

Cold rainy day today – just washed the outside windows..lol…things have just been rolling along walking, reading, painting and cooking..
Today is study day so have my books out to do art history…later on the food bank ( once again someone is not coming in) shouldn’t be too hard not many donations coming in this afternoon….
    Happy March all!

  • heather

Just waking up and drinking my hot tea this morning. Thinking about my doctors appointment yesterday getting pressure to catch up on those yearly scans that we’re all supposed to do when we get a certain age. This getting older thing is no fun at all.

  • Sylvia Svihel

My day is going GRRRRREAT! My weekly Chiro appointment because I’m worth it. Shopping for a few groceries. A 2 hour visit with my youngest daughter and granddaughter along with my sister in law. Ate dessert before supper and now relaxing.

  • Tamra Phelps

Well, the daily entry has reset but not the daily comment or the word of the day entry. Giveaway Tools has gone bonkers, lol.

  • Natalie Vandenberghe

I bowled this morning and only got my average in one of my games; it was not high enough to make up for the two other games 😫 I had a nice visit with my two oldest daughters after 😊

  • Rose

Oh oh, this is day 2 that I cannot add the entries. Don’t know if it is my computer or the giveaway form. I walked to town today for the milk run before the storm. I just made it back in time, the snow is coming down. Started cookin’ up a shepherd’s pie.

  • l p

the day is going well. it’s a fun day visiting with friends, family distributing yesterday’s baking. lots of opportunities for a visit and tea. enjoy your day. fingers crossed, Connie. thanks

  • heather

I have a doctos appointment this morning so I am getting ready for that. I see the form is still jacked up. It is messed up on all blogs. I have been emailing them too. I hope they get ifixed soon because it is the best form out there since Rafflecopter ended. Thank you for adding the daily entries to the widget. Have a great day and do something good for yourself today I am thinking chocolate ice cream.

  • KATE SARSFIELD

I haven’t managed to get any sleep yet and it’s almost noon. I feel like shite (sorry Connie). AND what’s more annoying, it’s an absolutely gorgeous day out there. Poop!

  • Tamra Phelps

Yep, this form is not resetting, like the one last month was doing at the end of last month. Giveaway Tools is not doing their thing, lol.

  • Shannon Mitchell

It’s going well today, a little chilly, but it’s above freezing. Had another birthday party yesterday, 2 more to go then done for several months, yes.

  • l p

the day is going well. it’s bread-baking day and I’m adding hot-cross buns. so far everthing is going to plan. enjoy your day (good luck with the form problems, Connie). thanks

  • KATE SARSFIELD

I went to the Doc’s this morning, for a scheduled session of bloodtests, ECG etc. I’ve another chest infection and now it turns out I’m ‘doing a Bear’, i.e. blood in my urine. More fecking steroids & antibiotics. Going back to bed.

  • Rose

Another cold day! I’m putting off walking to town until tomorrow, not much better, but one more day to prepare to bundle up fo the journey. Plenty of chores to do today! I should use one of my Yankee Candles! Should it be a winter scent, or one for spring? hmmm….

  • heather

I see the form is not resetting agian. I will try again later. Hope you have a great day looks like it’s raining here and I love it!

  • l p

the day is going well. another month – Happy St. David’s Day. after doing some volunteering, was out to get some groceries. enjoy your day. thanks

  • Rose

This day went by so fast! I wasn’t feeling too good the first half of the day, that is not that often for me. I used a grocery store delivery for the first time and had to order a lot to get a minimum and a bit off. So I did a lot of peeling, chopping and prep cooking of veggies and potatoes. More to do tomorrow and hopefully make something!

  • Barrie

Happy March 1st! Wow, already starting our third month this year. Today is good, although I am tired. Better living through caffeine. lol

  • heather

Happy March 1st! It’s my birthday month! I love this time of year so so much. The daffodils are blooming here, the fields are all green and I am seeing more and more baby animals in the fields.

  • KATE SARSFIELD

Dydd Gŵyl Dewi Hapus (Happy St. David’s Day)! St. David’s most famous saying is ‘Gwnewch y pethau bychain’ or ‘Do the little things’. So often it is those little things that can mean so much.
