Twister is a game I grew up with. It is one of those games that makes you laugh every single time!! Twister has been around since 1966! That’s a game that has stood the test of time.
Did you know that since its release, tons of folks have tried and succeeded in setting records for the most contestants in a game?? I had no idea! There are even a contest with the largest combined amount of Twister game mats. The World’s Largest Twister Mat was put together on June 18, 2010 in Belchertown, MA on the Belchertown High School football field. It measured 244.7 feet X 99.10 feet for 24,156 square feet. That’s a lot of Twister!!

The previous record, as cited by the Guinness Book of World Records, the largest game of Twister included 4,699 square feet of mats that were combined together. My favorite stat though is, the largest number of contestants in a game of Twister was once bestowed in 1987 with 4,160 contestants tangling themselves at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst. How cool is that?!?!

For now though, I’ll stick to three of the cutest little twistettes. Emma is 5, Eli 4, and Alice is 3. Alice didn’t quite grasp the whole bend and twist so we modified hers to stand on a color. She was still laughing and giggling and of course falling on the pile when someone fell. This was hysterical to watch!!
