Okay, all together now……… HOW DID it get to be October already!??!
My monthly update is filled with Halloween goodies! I decorated early in September. I just couldn’t help it. I started sending goodies to Alice and Olivia for Halloween. Then the whole ‘Winston‘ thing happened. Thank you Kate for the name, it really fits him. The most important part of Winston is the fact that my son Zachary STILL refuses to acknowledge him!!! Seriously!! How stubborn is this kid?!?!?! Yes, I do see the irony. That nut did not fall far from the tree. However, I continue to send an updated picture of Winston throughout the house every day, with a touching note about how hurt he is that Zac won’t acknowledge him. I WILL WIN!! I even roped The Husband into helping me. He built me a stand so that now Winston can stand ANYWHERE!!! Baaaaaaahaaaaaaaaaa. This will open up a WHOLE other bunch of photo opportunities!
You’ll notice Winston got tatted up too. (I AM HYSTERICAL!! REALLY!! I’m a funny bi^&@^$ just don’t ask Zachary… or The Husband….. just take my word for it. I AM FUNNY!

What did I do have not been on it this morning. So I started the steps and got to #3 and it it just round and round………………….. Got on line and read that there were lots of people. SO I got cleaned and went to Walmart. Time I got to walmart my account was back up!! Have not read any thing about what happened.

I have to admit I’m down about the new powerchair. You’d think I’d be happy. But it literally meets none of the things I had written down that I needed from a new wheelchair–it weighs so much (405 lbs.) that I can’t even move it under my own steam. My feet won’t touch the floor when I sit in it. Insurance would only pay for the leg rests that just hang there, won’t even swing out so you can move them to get up–you have to lift them out of the attachment part and they are super heavy. so…I don’t like it. I think it’s not going to be at all useful for me. And the kicker is this: for about 1/3 of the price, insurance could have gotten me the regular wheelchair that I wanted. But no, they wouldn’t cover that. That’s just insanity. Makes me want to spit. Or throw something. I guess I’ll just have to start buying replacement parts for my old wheelchair and hope it lasts.

I feel so relieved today! I was looking at my lawn covered with leaves 🍁 from my huge tree in my front lawn. I started wondering how I was going to have my lawn raked. My grandson surprised me by mowing my lawn which picked up those 🍁 leaves and made me very happy!! He solved my problem and I gave him a couple of bucks! TY Aidan!!

Well, my powerchair came today b ut I honestly don’t know if it will help me at all. It weighs over 400 pouns, isn’t very maneuverable for me obviously, and I just don’t see it being very helpful in a store. All I really wanted was a new regular wheelchair because mine has issues. But insurance won’t pay for that for another 3 years…but they’ll pay much more for an ‘upgrade.’ That’s insanity.

Didn’t do a lot worked a little bit on my car. Sprayed the trunk and doors with silcone so hopefully they dont stick when he get really COLD. Set up my basket on the floor in the back seat with my ice sprays and scraps. Trying to make it easy for me to find stuff instead of it rolling around on the floor… came in took a 2 hr nap

just out and about and stopped at goodwill………….I found 3 cute little things for my great niece (6) who will love them. And found a kid size pitcher in crystal pretty for $2.99. Zay loves to have tea partys with her great grandmother. I found small cups for her but have been using a merasuring cup for her to pour tea out into the cups.

I voted today. Well, I dropped my finished mail in ballot into the drop box. It is in front of the police substation where I go swimming. So no nasty people trying to intimidate me like in Arizona. Colorado has had mail in voting for many years and it always works well.

Weekend I guess I have reached the age that I just like a nice quiet relaxing weekend. I do a whole lot of nothing. And I always get in some naps. Next week our temp is going up to the 70’s. Which is great because there are so many things going on for kids this week. A lot of places are having trick or treat tunk for the kids. And There is fright farm that kids love

Spent a couple of hours cleaning the new house. Could have done more but I got cold. The chimney sweep is in sunny Portugal till next week. Once he’s sorted the chimneys out I’ll be able to get some much needed heat into the place. The gas central heating hasn’t been used in years so I’m not touching it – previous owner used electric oil-filled radiators but they’re so old I don’t want to touch them either,

Went to a doctor’s appointtment today, got my arm caught between the wheelchair and the lift door as I was coming home, so that’s going to leave a bruise, lol. I’m always getting my arms or hands caught between doors or walls and the wheelchair.

I heard today that insurance has approved a power wheelchair for me. That’s good news because my hands are hurting from having to wheel this regular one (arthritis mostly, plus weakness from the nerve damage sepsis caused.) I’ve gotten to the point where I have to stop every few aisles in the grocery just to rest my hands, lol.

There I was, all ready to set off this morning, blooming puncture! Got the spare on & headed to a local dealer. The tyre had split! Thank goodness it didn’t happen on the road to Mayo! Anyway, another one is heading the same way so I’ve ordered 2 new tyres for tomorrow. Back to bed!

The regional corporation that 2 yes 2 years ago came to start the road next to my property have come back and of course we are back at square 1 – the road is all grown over with high grass and the bulldozer has to come back and grade it once again – the men are asking me if there are water lines up here – for cement making?? of course but why are you thinking about concrete before you clear and grade?? Their logic astounds me..first things first!

The weather here has been pretty dramatic…got caught Wed in a yellow alert on the way shopping – too late to turn back so braved the torrential rain and wind – moved quickly through the stores and only by the grace did we get back before all the flooding… one of the roads up to our village was impassable so we were able to use an alternate route where the waters were just starting to rise…Schools closed – shoppes closed and the rain continued through Thursday until right now – our FEMA is out for 3 days helping people…

Nice weather today. We have a big discount store here that has been doing on line for points and coupons. I won a lot and they were going to run out in the next week or so. So I asked the lady in front of me who had a lot of stuff if she would like coupon for $10 off of a $50 order. SHE SAID NO! Why would you say no to a free $10????? After she left the cashie said that he could take pictures of what I want to share and give to people. So I gave him 4 $5 off of $25

I got my car serviced this morning then drove out to the new house to meet the estate agent (realtor) & read the electricity meter. The supply appears to have been disconnected since we were last inside which is going to cost a couple of thousand to reconnect & upgrade. Bummer. Bought a mini oven/grill on the way home. It’s the size of a big microwave & has 2 rings on top & fits on the worktop. Half the price of a regular cooker & more energy efficient too.

it’s a lot closer to the Atlantic so the weather tends to be colder & windier than where I lived before in the Sunny South East but Ireland doesn’t get much snow anyway. The last time we had real snow was The Beast from The East in 2018.

Over-cooked something in the microwave, so I turned on the oven fan to suck out the burnt smell before the smoke alarm went off…then when I went to turn the oven fan off, the knob came off (I was using a reacher)–I can’t really reach up that high while standing without getting dizzy, so my poor brother had to come over and put the knob back on and turn the fan off (and he had only been gone about an hour, after delivering some groceries for me.). Just another day around here, lol.

Nice!! I know that when my daughter and granddaughter were here last winter they both went through my jewelry boxes and went home with treasures. I love that. I love being able to share where the jewelry came from and who it originally belonged to (My Mom, My Grandma or Great Grandma)

October is coming in with a bang~ two soccer games and two hockey games today and well at least tomorrow its only one hockey game and apple picking!

Apple picking sounds fabulous. As far as the games I do remember going a zillion miles an hour with all the kids activities. I didn’t think so at the time but I REALLY do miss all of it.
