How Indoor Gardening Saved My Serial Killer Reputation

Indoor Gardening for Beginners: The Plant Light That Saved Me

Think you’re a hopeless plant killer? I was, too, until I found this plant light. Here’s how I’m turning my brown thumb green one leaf at a time!

Indoor Gardening 101: For a full breakdown of what else you need (besides photons), check out this ultimate guide for indoor gardening beginners. It even covers how to grow actual food on your kitchen counter!

If you’ve ever tried indoor gardening and failed miserably, you are in good company.

I’ve tried everything. I’ve talked to them. I’ve played them everything from Mozart to Led Zeppelin. Nope, not a fix.

Case in point. The GG Cactus. This cactus belonged to my Mom. It was HUGE! I took a small clipping off when we moved to Idaho. I gave the huge cactus to my daughter-in-law, Amber. Her house is alive with plants. I knew she would be the perfect person to keep The GG Cactus alive. Now?? That cactus is spectacular. These cactus cut-offs have been given to SO many families in Southern California, it’s insane. Each plant has blossomed to HUGE plants. Meanwhile The GG Cactus in my house is the SAME EXACT SIZE FROM WHEN I BROUGHT IT HERE 10 YEARS AGO!??!?! Are YOU kidding me, MOTHER?!?!

Yes, my house is where beautiful greenery goes to… well, either die or stay exactly the same. Some have even become mulch.

The “Light” Bulb Moment

Then came the SANSI Grow Light, and my indoor gardening game changed forever.

SANSI Grow Light is a small but mighty light. It has an easy-to-attach Pot Clip LED Full Spectrum light. This lamp features 4 levels of dimmable light. An auto on/off switch that allows 3, 6, or 12 hours on. This little 5-volt gem works on all plants! From The GG succulent, my orchids,

I’ll be honest, I thought it was just going to be a fancy lamp that would eventually illuminate a very expensive pot of dirt. But a funny thing happened: actual green leaves.

It turns out plants don’t just need my “good vibes”; they actually need specific photons. Who knew science was so demanding?

Why This Light is a Game Changer:

  • It’s basically a tanning bed for Orchids: My Orchid is currently basking like it’s on a beach in Maui while it’s actually 40 degrees and raining outside.
  • The “Set it and Forget it” Factor: Most of these come with timers. It’s the only member of this household that actually wakes up on time without a cup of coffee.

The “Un-Killable” List: Still nervous? Start with these 21 forgiving houseplants that are specifically designed to survive people like me.

I’m officially turning my brown thumb green, one leaf at a time. If I can keep an orchid, not only blooming but alive and THRIVING for more than a week, anything is possible.

Whether you are a seasoned pro or just starting your indoor gardening journey like me, don’t let a brown thumb stop you. The SANSI Pot Clip LED Light is proof that with the right tools, even the ‘serial plant killers’ among us can grow something beautiful. Stay tuned to see if the GG Cactus finally decides to grow an inch this decade!

Oh my ggosh, I have killed so many plants!! I killed a cactus because I just couldn’t believe it needed no water, lol–so I watered it just a tiny bit! A tiny bit! It died.

Wow, another great talent, no idea you have such a GREEN thumb! No more brown! I tried having plants in the condo, but they attract these little beetles! I had to let them go. Soon as they were out of the condo, no more beetles ever. I had gotten them at Whole Foods, I don’t think it was from the plant, but some bugs in the area that not sure why they loved the plants!!! I never heard of these lights before, great idea!!!!

The grow lights ARE a game changer – I use them for starting seeds for my garden and any plants that are nearby thrive so much better than just natural sunlight
