Time For The $50 Your Way July 2025 Giveaway!

So June was a good/sad month.

We lost our dear sweet friend Gloria. Although, I believe Gloria and my Mother are having a great time in Heaven.

The number of my June entries SKY ROCKETED over night….. do I know why? No.

Do I think I all of a sudden got SUPER popular? Ahhhhhh also no. BUT! Don’t I wish! YES!

DID I figure this out? Not really. I saw a lot of very suspicious looking email addresses. I did change my password.

Anyway, I saw it. I investigated. I learned nutin’.

As far as the rest of June, the 8th Grade Class trip was AMAZING!! I had a great time. I am so glad I went. I’m sorry it’s over already. I have to find another trip/event to look forward too.

Now for the REAL reason you are here…..

  • Rose

OK, I found out yesterday for casement window hardware lubricating, you need silicone spray for some parts, and white lithium grease for others. My next stop is to get the grease… never heard of it before. Good to know.

  • heather

Our power was out again yesterday for SEVEN hours!!!!! I have spent a fortune this week replacing spoiled food. I am so ticked off about it I could just scream!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for listening. lol

  • Michele Soyer

Where does all this aundry come from? LOL After breakfast a short trip to the farmers market. This afternoon a BBQ and relaxing….Happy weekend to all….

  • l p

the day is going well. it’s finally an ‘ideal’ summer day. good one for walks and getting out to do some shopping. enjoy your day. thanks

  • Rose

I bumped into someone today I hadn’t seen in 6 years. Wow, last time I saw her she had just gotten divorced. Now she has a six-year old child, got her master’s degree and is gorgeous and as perky as ever. Good for her. Not much has changed for me, but at least not too much worse, other than gaining weight…. but I’m working on it!!!!

      • Rose

Yes, it is! Although I’ve been known to slunk around in the grocery store if I see an old boyfriend, and my hair is frizzed out from humidity, etc. and I know they’ll think oh what happened to her… she USED to be kinda sorta cute LOL….

  • Michele Soyer

Invited last evening to sit on a neighbors patio and chat for a bit….Pleasant time. Baking this morning then out for a walk…Another lovely day…

  • heather

We had a new fire start last night in our local area. I was a little suspicious as the lighning storm was on Monday late afternoon but I read that fires can start hours, days or even weeks after a big storm. The hot emvbers smolder under the ground I guess. It calms my nervous coming to your blog and keeps my mind off of it all for a new minutes.

  • l p

the day is going well. was out very early for an appointment and got some shopping for essentials done on the way home. indoor ‘jungle’ needed watering so that was the home priority. lots of carrying back and forth but it’s done. time for a bit of a rest. enjoy your day. thanks

  • heather

I got some sleep last night sure needed it. Still all packed and ready in case we get evacuated. It is no fun trying to get ready in the morning when all of your stuff is packed.

    • Connie (The Head Peanut)

Fires still raging? So far (knock on wood) nothing close to us. Stay safe!! Sending a prayer your way.

  • Rose

It has cooled off, rain last night. So this means I can get things done without feeling dragged down from the heat & humidity. Gong to do more on windows and cleaning. Gotta’ make hay while you can!

  • Tamra Phelps

strange day here–sun is out, it’s very hot, but it’s raining, lol. Mother Nature has lost her mind. lol

  • l p

the day is going well, really busy though. out for physiotherapy first thing, then on to the pharmacy to get an error they made sorted; lunch with friends to celebrate a birthday, quiet evening. enjoy your day. thanks

    • Connie (The Head Peanut)

Sounds like a great day. Well, except for the RX mix up. I’m off now to a birthday lunch for my gal pals too.

      • l p

thanks Connie. hope you had a lovely time celebrating with your gal pals. RX mix-up almost sorted – they must be breaking in new staff as the regular ones know what to do. anyway, just grateful I have the means to pay for it all. enjoy your day.

  • Rose

Day is going good. Got up early ready to roll, as it is finally a reprieve from the extreme humidity and heat! But getting up that early means I just had “lunner.” That is a combo of lunch and dinner… at 3:00…. oh oh. but now back to chores, but with fuel in the tank…

    • Connie (The Head Peanut)

Hey! I’m having a lunner today too. I’ll be sure to leave room for an ice cream sandwich though.

  • heather

On Monday late afternoon we were hit by terrible thunderstorms I mean it was bad!! The power was out for 14 hours and we lost everything in the refrigerator. The lightning started several wildfires. We are now surrounded on three sides by wildfires. I have my bags packed in case we get evacuated.

      • Heather

Thank you so much Connie for your kind words. We are still here all packed and ready at a moments notice to evacuate. The fires are still raging here. The sun is coming up right no so hopefully the fire airtankers will be dropping fire retardant soon. They also have helicopters dropping loads of water all day.

  • Michele Soyer

Another lovely day, bright sun and a nice cool breeze…Had an early morning walk again and now doing a quick clean and laundry..

    • Connie (The Head Peanut)

It’s beautiful here too. Took The Husband to physical therapy. Now he is napping and I’m in the craftroom deciding on my next project. I SHOULD clean but I don’t wanna. Enjoy your Wednesday.

    • Connie (The Head Peanut)

Not sleeping well makes for a long day doesn’t it? I hope you had a successful doctor visit. AND sleep well tonight.

the day is going well. dropped off bread/rolls at friends’ places and then went on to volunteer for four hours. rested up this afternoon. enjoy your day. thanks

  • Shelly Peterson

It’s another really hot day today. This morning I went to breakfast and later I am going to see a movie with my grandson.

    • Connie (The Head Peanut)

I’m so jealous. My time with Alice and Olivia was way, way too fast. What movie did you see? AND was it good? The Husband and I just watched Minecraft on Netflix. It was okay. Glad I didn’t spend money at the theater though.

  • Rose

OK, the other day I had on my list to tackle my “lists.” You know you are list-obssessed when you need a list to condense your lists. Well got that done. That will be good for …. a month? then it will be back to multiples.. I just put away some spare pieces of paper… The good part is many things on the list(s) were done! So now I am onto cleaning some windows, and each one takes a lot of time between the blinds, lubrcating and cleaning the casement metal parts, cleaning the windows, then the screens, the curtains. the sills and will need to do some touchup sanding and painting on the sills.

    • Connie (The Head Peanut)

Rose we are so alike. I have lists everywhere. I HAVE to have a list or stuff gets forgotten. I love a paper list. In my phone it’s too easy to ignore. Paper and pen all the way.
      My list is tooooooo long.

    • Rose

Yes1 They must be paper lists! Also, I am very picky about pens, must be extra extra fine point, and have multiple colors. I actually condensed a couple lists, but still have another set to go… They do help me keep track of things, esp things that might not be on the main “radar screen.”

  • Tamra Phelps

It is still sooooo hot and humid, lol. And around here that means storms blow up out of nowhere, too. Gray clouds are wafting through out there right now. Ugh.

  • Michele Soyer

It is a gorgeous day here today…I was out walking early and did not want to come back in…Serring up lunch on the patio today – too lovely to be inside…later will take my book and read out there….

    • Connie (The Head Peanut)

Ohhhh family photos! I love going through photos. I WISH SO MUCH I would have taken a pencil and wrote who was who on the back. Or any story associated with the picture. Now it takes a Ouija Board to ask. (Cause I am stubborn, I WILL remember who is who… turns out… not so much! LOL) Have fun!

    • Connie (The Head Peanut)

Ohhhh how I wish I was your neighbor. I LOVE the smell of fresh bread. I would also be THAT neighbor with her nose pressed to the window and drool off my chin begging for a slice.

  • heather

We will be in the triple digits here today so I am enjoying this time of the day. The sun hasn’t quite come up over the mountain yet and it is so nice out. I have to make a store run today to get a few bags of ice. Have a nice Monday.

    • Connie (The Head Peanut)

We haven’t hit triple digits here. I am enjoying my summer! It’s beautiful here. So far we have a nice breeze even.

  • Rose

Oh goodie, a rainy day. That means doing a few things that typically get put off. Also planning to make cherry cobbler, found a good recipe. I love pitting cherries with my new steel straw, it works so good!!!

  • l p

the day is going well. weather’s great so I’ve moved my crafting outdoors. it’s so much easier to see/match colours in real light (i.e., sunlight). enjoy your day. thanks

  • Elizabeth

My mom and I are trying to help each other through our various issues (my toe, her bug) until we can reach our doctors tomorrow…sigh!

  • Rose

Oh oh another heat wave, but this one is shorter, so windows are staying open… and it is 85 in here. Humidity isn’t too bad, so it is bearable. I made a new chicken recipe in the crockpot. So easy and so good. A can of cream of chicken soup, add cut up chicken breasts, and then cook for an hour ro so. Then I add corn and peas. I had made homeade biscuits, so you can take some biscuits and cut them in half and put them on top of the misture. Press it in. Cook for another hour or so. It comes out like a pot pie, You can also make a biscuit mix fresh and it will cook on top.

    • Connie (The Head Peanut)

Rose that sounds delicious. I LOVE crockpot meals. Last night I made one with stew meat (browned) Add a can of cream of mushroom soup, Boursin Garlic & Herb cheese (The whole little round thing) a can of condensed milk and a cup of beef broth. It was SOOOOOOOOOO good!! I served over mashed potatoes. SO good!!

  • Carolyn D

I have one more week off of summer vacation before I return to work. I am hoping to make the best out of this week.

  • heather

Happy Sunday to all. I am taking it easy today and staying home. Making fried chicken, potato salad and corn on the cob for dinner tonight. I am on a corn on the cob kick so far this summer.

    • Connie (The Head Peanut)

Oh fried chicken sounds delicious. Hummmmm since I don’t have any plans for dinner that might just be on the menu.

  • Michele Soyer

The roast is in the oven and there is nothing to clean at all! Planning on reading and listening to music all day today..Happy Sunday to you all….

  • Tamra Phelps

It’s been a day, lol. One of those where you feel like everything is a struggle, harder than it needs to be. The legrests on my wheelchair are acting up, one won’t lower, the other is hard to get off. Finally gave up and ordered new ones, so that’s an expense I didn’t want, lol.

      • Tamra Phelps

sometimes it covers wheelchair expenses, but a certain amount of time has to have passed. Like it will pay for a new chair every 5 years. The leg rests wouldn’t be covered yet.

  • l p

the day is going well. took the bones for a walk earlier and met friends for coffee. now to finish tidying up. enjoy your day thanks

  • Rose

Day is going good, I told myself no baking or crafts, so I will get a few chores done that always are on back burner. So far, so good. Taking a break to check in on Connie!!!

  • heather

Our 4th was just so so. Our power was out for a few hours due to another local wildfire! So no AC and no fans. I just read this morning that another house burned last night in town due to fireworks. I really wish they would ban them in my state. If you want to see a fireworks show go to a professional display over water! Enough already!

  • Michele Soyer

Sitting here fiduring out what to do today…Had a pleasant day yesterday at a BBQ and watching fireworks.. there is laundry to do and a bit of hoovering…but the patio looks inviting so taking the day off again looks like a plan…

  • Shannon Mitchell

Happy Independence Day! Spent the daytime with the kiddos. Now relaxing and going to cookout and watch fireworks later.

  • Elizabeth

Banged my foot on the vacuum cleaner last night and tore my toenail, so I’m in the urgent care waiting room.

  • heather

Happy 4th of July to everyone. We are just staying home and having a BBQ. Pray that no one starts another fire with fireworks here happens every single year.

    • Terri Quick

I bought sparklers but I don’t know if I’ll get to do those. The dogs are going crazy over the fireworks already lol

  • l p

the day is going well. kind of tired today but had enough energy to go out for fish and chips with friends. lots of left-overs so that will help later. enjoy your day. thanks

  • Jennifer Wilson

I had no idea that Gloria was practically my neighbor. I’m in her town at minimum once a week and sometimes almost daily. Wish I had known she was that close.

I had a ton of fake emails come in on a giveaway on my blog one time. I had to filter out by IP address and it got rid of the fake ones for me.

  • Tamra Phelps

Went out to the doctor’s today. Actually a really nice day, warm but n ot humid and a breeze blowing, so it felt nice. Just a routine visit, so hopefully all was good.

  • Rose

I made sure to get groceries today before the pre-holiday crush! Also before more big storms. But did good with sales and digital coupons.

  • l p

the day is going quite well. got a call postponing today’s appointment until next month. that’s OK – more time to do things today as it give me back the 3 hours travel-time I would have spent. beautiful day today – hope it lasts to the end of the week. enjoy your day. thanks

  • Shelly Peterson

It’s another really hot day and my a/c can;tkeep up with the heat. During the day it stays warm. Atleast going to dialysis I can cool down for 4 hours.

  • Tamra Phelps

Well, June was not great, huh? To tell the truth the whole year so far has been a real crap show, lol. Things need to pick up soon.

  • Rose

It feels like a sauna here today, with the high humidity. I’m still getting things done, though. I made a summer body butter concoction with organic cocoa butter, almond kernel oil, organic beeswax, and lemon essential oil and satsuma fragrance oil. You melt it on low heat and then whip it. It is in the refrigerator, on your skin if first feels cool, then you can put it on.

  • l p

the day is going well. spent the morning weeding the garden. looking forward to dinner with friends. enjoy your day. thanks

  • Heather

Happy July 1st! Rabbit, Rabbit, Rabbit – for good luck all month long. Hope it’s cooler here today it was a real cooker yesterday and I got very little sleep last night.
