Options for Fertility Preservation after Ovarian Cancer Diagnosis
Ovarian cancer is the fifth leading cause of cancer death in women. Typically affecting older women—the average age is 63—another subset of the female population can develop the condition at a much younger age. Researchers say that 1 in 10 women will develop a cancer during their childbearing years and for those who develop ovarian cancer, special consideration must be given to protecting a woman’s eggs or reproductive tissue. This is referred to as fertility preservation. Cancer treatments like chemotherapy or radiation can dramatically effect or eliminate a woman’s ability to have biological children later. Preservation is a decision that cannot be made lightly and it’s important that patients work closely with their doctor and support system to determine what risk their cancer treatment will have on their future fertility so they may make an informed decision. Many patients fail to discuss preservation because they are processing the shock of a cancer diagnosis, afraid to broach the subject, or they are simply unaware that there are options available. Each cancer case is unique to each patient and today’s treatments can be more tailored than ever thanks to tools like liquid biopsy cancer screening tests and advanced pathology approaches that give…

I Am So Bored!!
Ha!! Did I get you again?? I’m not the one that’s bored. Neither is five-year-old Alice. It’s our newest children’s book. I Am So Bored! Written and Illustrated by Henrike Wilson. Seriously how many times a day do you hear that from the kids?? This cute book teaches kids what to do when they are bored. The Jest Of The Book This book is about a little bear who can’t find any of his friends to play with. Even Momma Bear can’t play. This little bear finally just lies on the ground. Doing nothing. Just laying there. This adorable book is great for teaching kids to be still and hear and see things around them. From cloud watching to pretending you can fly like a bird. Five-Year-Old Logic When I asked Alice if she liked the book, she said ‘It’s boring’. I said “Oh Alice, does that mean you didn’t like it?” She looked at me like I had lost my mind. “No Non, it’s the BORING book!” Still not understanding if she actually liked the book or not I asked the same question in a different way “Are you going to want to read it again?” This is apparently where…

The Rocky Workout!!
This video is too funny not to share!! Not to mention the fact that I just don’t feel like writing! So enjoy!!!! Great! The Rocky Workout video is gone. So, instead: Updating my blog’s SEO has officially entered the same category as cleaning behind the refrigerator. Necessary. Noble. Slightly horrifying. 🧹✨ Because nothing says “fun afternoon” like opening a five year old post and discovering half the images have vanished, three links lead to businesses that now exist only in memory, and somewhere deep in the code lives a font choice I definitely made during a caffeine spiral. Welcome to my glamorous life. Recently, I decided it was time to “freshen things up.” You know, a light polish. A little dusting. Instead, I uncovered what I can only describe as The Ghost of PBnWhine Past. This sneaky little phantom floats through my blog at night deleting pictures like a Victorian librarian with a grudge. “Oh, you liked that step by step craft tutorial with helpful photos?”Poof. Gone. “That product review with beautifully staged shots?”Vanished into the ether. Now posts look like: Step 1: Do the thingStep 2: [image missing]Step 3: Trust me Very helpful. Ten out of ten. No notes.…

iClever Headphones For Kids AND GIVEAWAY!!
Those of you that have younger kids or have young grandkids have probably seen and heard the YouTube videos that are geared towards kids. Most of the videos are of kids either opening packages of blind bags or playing with Barbie’s or Baby Alive. A couple of them I can handle. However, five-year-old Alice could watch for hours if you let her. She also is not a fan of turning the sound down on her iPad. To say I was thrilled to be offered kid friendly iClever headphones for review is an understatement. SO GIDDY!! So many reasons!! Starting with the most important feature is the Kid Safe Volume Limiting Technology. What exactly is Volume Limiting Technology? It’s built-in volume-limiting circuitry that keeps the sound pressure down to levels recommended as safe for young ears and will not blow their eardrums!!! These headphones limit the volume to 85 db. A safe level for kids. I love that! I know that Alice who loves her videos loud isn’t hurting her ears. AND I don’t have to hear any of them! It’s a double win!! The headphones are durable. I don’t know if you are aware, but that sweet little five-year-old Alice…
