As we head towards the festive season, it has many of us looking forward to some family time with our little ones. They will be breaking up from school and there will be a host of opportunities to spend some quality family time together. But it also means you want to find some fun things to do. Time to keep your kids entertained. With a couple of weeks off, there is plenty of time for you to do things that you can’t cram into a weekend and you want to ensure they are entertained. The last thing you want is them to feel bored and unhappy. Here we have put together some fun activities to keep your kids entertained this festive season.
Do some baking
When it comes to finding something to do and keep your kids entertained this festive season, baking is one of the best things you can do. There are many things you can do with this, from creating festive treats to whipping up a mouthwatering banana cake recipe.
Think about the age your children are and how much they can help out with. You could try fridge cakes if you don’t want them using the oven, or just make sure you help them every step of the way. You could ask your little ones what they want to make and encourage them to have some ideas!
Have a craft day
Crafts are another fantastic thing that you can do with your kids when you want to keep them entertained. There are many things to do over the festive season such as making collages, cutting out snowflakes and making Christmas decorations. You could also do some painting, drawing or other arts and crafts. Pinterest is a great place to have a look for inspiration and you can find some easy and cheap things to do. Craft is great in that it doesn’t cost too much and you can have hours of fun and creativity.
Find a local festive event to head to
Another wonderful thing about the festive season is that there are a host of Christmas-related events to head to. Whether you want to take your children to meet Santa Claus, or go and find a festive event such as a Christmas market or fayre there are so many different choices. You could go carol singing or just have a tour of the local Christmas lights in your area to get in the spirit of the season. Be sure to keep an eye on local notice boards and events to find the best events near you that you can partake in.
