The First $50 Your Way Giveaway Of 2026

Happy New YEAR!!!
I’m officially popping the confetti cannon for my first $50 Your Way Giveaway for 2026.
This giveaway is my little thank-you to everyone who reads, comments, lurks quietly, or accidentally clicks my site while Googling something totally unrelated. It’s simple, it’s fun, and it does not require interpretive dance, 47 steps, or a master’s degree in sweepstakes science.
December was absolutely a whirlwind of activity. Super quick trip to California to watch Granddaughter Alice play Maid Marian in Robin Hood. SHE WAS FABULOUS!!
The Christmas craft fair ended with me doing well enough to buy more craft supplies. I’m happy, AND full of new ideas for next year. Including perhaps expanding to a second craft fair. MAYBE.
Giveaway Time
The Rules: A little of the blah blah blah stuff: This giveaway is open worldwide for PayPal, Venmo, and Amazon. I’m willing to try any GC that you think would work worldwide. This giveaway is $50 US currency.
This giveaway is hosted by yours truly. No co-hosts. No mystery elves. Just me.
I will NEVER ask for anything weird. No fees, no passwords, no interpretive dance. I only need to know where to send your prize. That’s it.
If you win, the email will come from Co****@******************ne.com. I’ve learned the hard way that subject lines like “Congratulations!” vanish straight into spam jail, so expect something more like:
“HEY it’s Connie” or “Guess WHAT?”
Totally legit. Mildly dramatic.
I’d love it if you came back often, hung out a bit, and clicked around. Looking at more than one page really helps me keep this little corner of the internet alive. Extra ad clicks are always appreciated and quietly celebrated.
Purchasing through my blog does NOT cost you extra money. Pinky promise. It just helps keep this giveaway rolling month after month like a happy little cash parade.
There are tons of ways to enter the $50 Your Way Giveaway.
Comments? I LOVE comments.
Sharing? Yes please.
Hint hint. Nudge nudge.
Sharing also earns you extra entries, which means better odds and bragging rights.
Every once in a while I’ll sneak in a new entry option, so check back occasionally. These surprise entries usually pop up as a comment request on a specific post. Blink and you might miss it.
GOOD LUCK! On to the Giveaway!!! Good Luck Little Peanuts!!
And don’t tell anyone else, but I’m secretly hoping YOU win. 🤞✨

the day is going well. great weather for once so went out for a long walk. feels good not to have to wear an extra 5 lb of clothing to go out. I can hardly believe it’s the end of January. bring on February, I guess. enjoy your evening. thanks
Shannon Mitchell
Just taking it easy today. I might go through the toys today, kids have too many at the moment.
Terri Quick
I’m just watching the WWE pay per view lol
Kate Sarsfield
Another gorgeous day with some real heat in the sun! Pottered in the garden for a bit but the ground’s too wet to do much. The boys are better, thank goodness & are loving the sunshine. It’s to turn cold again but I’ll take it as long as the rain stays away! Fat chance.
Tamra Phelps
I am so tired of looking out my window and seeing a sea of white snow, lol. I mean, it is pretty for a day. Then it is a big pain in the butt! I have had to cancel and reschedule two doctors appointments already. Mail wasn’t delivered for 5 days. Most of this is because the management here has not done their job and had the parking area plowed–so our parking area is blocked by a mountain of snow pushed to the side of the road by city plows!
Connie: The Head Peanut
OH MY GOSH!! Please tell me you aren’t in the path of this new storm coming?? Are you ready for this? My snow is 99% gone. IN IDAHO!?! Stay safe. Stay warm.
Michele Soyer
A lazy lazy Saturday. Still in my pj’s and will be all day! But in my defense I did my hair and makeup LOL catching up on emails while listening to old school R&B..
Eventually I will work myself into the kitchen and make something very healthy for lunch… burgers and fries really healthy…getting prepped for the small celelbration tomorow.. champagne of course..
Connie: The Head Peanut
I made burgers and fries yesterday. Wait… I made burgers and dished out fritos. Almost the same thing. LOL. Now. About that champagne? That is my beverage of choice. I shall be there soon. LOL
Elizabeth
Things are weird to say the least, going to tackle it one thing at a time…
Connie: The Head Peanut
Absolutely one day at a time. I SERIOUSLY need to tackle my to-do list. BUT, end of the month is so busy. Maybe tomorrow.
Ed
Having an ok start to the day. Looking forward to working the Moose game this afternoon.
Connie: The Head Peanut
I hope the Moose game is awesome!
Rose
Wowzer, this zero temp seems a lot colder than when it was this cold but snowing. I was able to be outside shoveling for a couple of hours, this cold, I can’t take it for more than a few minutes! I’v been stressing about the car, as I have someone who will be buying it, but if the battery goes dead, it could end up being a lesser offer or no deal. Ugghhh…
Connie: The Head Peanut
Oh my gosh! Stay safe, stay warm. Everyone direct warm thoughts to Rose’s car battery. My BFF is in Florida and her weather is COLDER than mine in Idaho?? We will be high 30’s overnight, while she will be in the 20’s. Ewwwwwwwwww
heather
I have some running around to do today and lots o driving. I’m pretty sure I left a comment yesterday but I don’t see it? I feel like I am having a senior moment right now lol.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Yes, MAYBE because it was a Friday!? At the Post Office?!?! MAN! I am funny! I crack myself up.
Shelly Peterson
Today is my sons birthday. So we are going to dinner and having game night. Might sneak in going to the casino.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Shelly, I’m IN!!! I am trying to think of how to sneak off this week. I NEED A BREAK!! As long as it doesn’t snow. Wanna go with me?!
Tamra Phelps
We are almost through January, and I feel like I have already lived through an entire year, lol. Maybe I’m just stir crazy from this snowed in feeling.
l p
the day is going well. had more appointments and then did some laundry after cleaning the bathroom. looking forward to a restful evening. enjoy your day. thanks
Terri Quick
I’m just watching movies under the blankets
Shannon Mitchell
I’m trying to clean out closets and it’s taking forever, each thing ends up being a huge project. Boxes of things I haven’t seen in years, like why did I keep all this stuff, boxes filled with tax papers, my grown kids school awards etc. lol
Kate Sarsfield
Right, Bryn’s eye is better as is his & Loki’s cold. Just the ‘stray that moved in’, Melynn still coughing & spluttering. I’ve got to clean the window in my bedroom, inside & out. It’s covered in cat sneezes! Today was beautiful here – a bit cold but lovely sunshine all day. Should have been out in it but fell asleep round lunchime & missed most of it. The East of the country is still badly flooded in parts & more rain due there over the weekend.
Michele Soyer
Friday again! Ran the vacuum, changed the linens and did a quick swipe on the bathroom sinks…changed the drapes in the dining room and made blueberry muffins….
Until lunch sitting down with my book and just relaxing..
Happy weekend to you all….
Rose
Oh oh, the cold spell is being replaced by one colder! I have quite a few layers on, wowzer!
DeeAnn
doin my darnedist to stay warm! Boy, is it brutal out there today! brrrrrrrr
Shelly Peterson
Happyy Friday! I have dialysis and also the grandkids will be over.
Ed
Had a good day. Went to a father-daughter event with my youngest daughter this evening.
Tamra Phelps
It’s so cold here that the snow hasn’t melted at all. We’ve been buried under it here for almost a week (the management at this place is very slow to start any shoveling or plowing, so even our mail isn’t being delivered!) Sometimes you have to light a fire under their a$$, as my Mom used to say, lol. I guess the complaining calls start now!
Terri Quick
Still very cold here
Kate Sarsfield
It’s the 3rd day of Chandra, the latest storm to hit these shores. We’re getting the wind in the West but the East is getting the rain. Parts of the town where I used to work is under 10ft of water with more to come. Been singing all day – think I’ve ‘found my herd’! Do you have that saying over there?
Tamra Phelps
I have heard that phrase, lol. I’m glad you found your happy place!
Kate Sarsfield
Honestly, Tamra, I feel so much ‘lighter’, if that makes sense. Haven’t been in much of a mood to sing since Mum died …
Shannon Mitchell
I went to the grocery store today, meat was on sale, I was going to wait until tomorrow but it’s supposed to be colder tomorrow. I stocked up for sure.
l p
the day is going well. very busy helping plan the memorial service for a dear friend. things are almost taken care of. thank goodness for email. enjoy your day. thanks
Michele Soyer
Grocery and wine delivery went well and eveything is put away….
Have a pot of chicken soup going and will make some biscuits later on…
Plan on having my galpal neighbor who is so kind over for lunch next week..
Nothing at all to do except feed the bunnies and watch the cats look at them thru the window with a miserable face…LOL
Rose
Wow, I’m seeing 0 degree weather thru another 7 or 8 days…. I keep hoping my car battery won’t die out, as I don’t drive it much. And it has already been at least a week and one of the biggest storms in history.
heather
I am taking a loved one to a doctors appointment today. This appointment usually lasts 4-5 hours so I need to pack my ‘sanity’ bag to keep myself occupied. I will be packing books, my tablet, drinks and treats.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Oh Heather, that is one long appointment. I know your loved one truly appreciates you. Drive safe. Stay sane.
Shelly Peterson
I don’t have much going on today, but the grandkids will be over.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Ahhhhh best part of the day right? I miss my Grands.
Shelly Peterson
Yes! I love them to pieces. I’m pretty lucky that all my grandkids live here.
Ed
Had a good day. Looking forward to having a daddy-daughter date with my youngest daughter tomorrow.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Ohhhhh Ed! I love Daddy Daughter dates. That is the kind of thing that kids never forget.
Elizabeth
Just paid some bills, need to do a grocery run.
Connie: The Head Peanut
I did a grocery run on Monday. Got home, (where the list was) yup missed enough I should go again, but I will make do. It’s too cold.
Kate Sarsfield
I skidded on moss this morning. Luckily, I didn’t fall but I did pull a muscle. Not helped by cleaning out 40+ stinky litter trays! Anyway, it could have been worse. Choir practice was great. So much easier now I’ve got the sheet music to follow.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Ohhhh OUCH Kate! I’m glad you didn’t fall but ouch.
Terri Quick
I’m just relaxing at home
Connie: The Head Peanut
I am waiting to see what our crazy weather will be doing today. We got snow yesterday for about 2 hours. Today is supposed to be a rain/snow mix. I MAY go to lunch with a friend….maybe
l p
the day is going well. it’s sunny and surprisingly warm so all my outside chores were tackled – well some of them. one step at a time, I guess. enjoy your day. thanks
Connie: The Head Peanut
No outside chores here. I should do inside chores…is a nap a chore? 😅🤣😂
Tamra Phelps
Still pretty much snowed in. A wheelchair just does not travel in snow, lol. Still, not a bad day. Blue skies, just very cold. About 16 degrees out there.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Yikes! We are warmer than you! That surprises me. I’m waiting to see what today is like before I make any real plans.
Michele Soyer
Have to hustle a bit – the soup kitchen called and asked instead of a late afternnon serving duty would I mind doing an early start – cooking instead – no problem at all.. leaving around noon for about a 3 hour stretch…Back in time to make a nice dinner…
Mu grocery and wine delivery is pushed until tomorrow with no problem! Again I am grateful….
Connie: The Head Peanut
Great job Michele. You are truly such a wonderful person. Was your neighbor able to go with you again?
Michele Soyer
No – she just was kind enough to take me and amazingly pick me up! So grateful am I…
heather
Working around the house today and also outside. I did a bunch of running around yesterday and I am a little worn out from all the fun. I was almost in an accident yesterday and I am still shook up from it. I have to drive on several rural roads and people drive on them like it’s the Autobahn (which I have also driven on and it’s still safer)! Some A-hole passed me yesterday with a full log truck in the oncoming lane it was a close one!
Connie: The Head Peanut
Oh MAN! Heather! I’m so glad you are safe n sound. Why are people such idiots behind the wheel?
Shelly Peterson
Today I have dialysis and the grandkids are coming over for the day.
Ed
Had a good day. Went bowling with a bunch of guys tonight.
Elizabeth
Got things accomplished for once, but I feel beat!
l p
the day is going well – but my goodness, it’s busy. lots of meetings but we got a lot talked over and decisions made. now I’m tackling the to-do list – verrrry slowly. enjoy your day. thanks
Terri Quick
I went out for a bit but it’s so cold 🥶
Michele Soyer
It is so pretty outside with all the snow and the bunnies running around I could sit and look out the patio the whole morning….But never the less it is time to get moving…
Already did my walking and gong meditation – do love that gong! LOL
Have to order my groceries and wine for delivery tomorrow morning.. The 1st of February will be our one year anniverary living in this condo and state…Planning a small celebration dinner, just the two of us and her friend…
With the removal of a key player here the city has calmed down a good bit….emotions are very sad but not as charged….
Connie: The Head Peanut
HOLY cow, I can’t believe that it’s been a year. WOW!!! That year went fast.
Michele Soyer
I have started to believe in quantam physics – there is an aceleration of time that is unbelievable.
Connie: The Head Peanut
ABSOLUTELY!
Tamra Phelps
Happy anniversary. It’s hard to believe that just over a year ago you were still worried about selling the place you were in then! Glad everything has turned out so well.
Michele Soyer
I truly believe one must have faith that what is to be yours, or what is to happen will …Again to repeat myself for the umpeeth time I am so bloody grateful!!
Rose
It is another very cold day and is going to last a week more. Getting some of the chores done that have been too convenient to ignore. Nothing big but those nagging things on one of the “to do” lists that keep getting carried forward. I need to do more than just use up ink rewritting them! So a little at a time, I say to myself, “inch by inch is a pinch, by the mile, it is a trial.” So I don’t say to myself, get this list DONE. No, I say get ONE THING done on the list and that pretty much works. Then another day, another item, sometimes two! You have to get ahead of it, in that new things keep getting added, so you have to faster than things are added….
Connie: The Head Peanut
I managed to cross 3 items off my to-do list today. I’m on a ROLL!!! Now I need a nap.
Rose
Wow, I’m impressed! The giant storm has knocked me off kilter, and some “to do’s” take longer than I thought, but getting back on the bandwagon. I love the storms that give me a good excuse to ignore the to-do list(s).
Connie: The Head Peanut
Rose are the storms over yet? I haven’t watched the news yet today. Are things getting back to normal?
Kate Sarsfield
Went to the library to print off more sheet music & put together my folder. Three out of four cats now have this sneezy cold, though one is much better. We’re in the middle of a storm, the rain/sleet hit yesterday & now it’s the wind. Little Bryn’s eye is improving with the saline washes. It’s his good eye that’s affected; his other was scarred by feline flu’ as a tiny kitten and has reduced sight.
Michele Soyer
All of you stay warm and safe….hope the little ones eye is improved….
Connie: The Head Peanut
Oh no! Poor little guys.
Tamra Phelps
Ah, poor Bryn! Hope he gets well.
heather
I have some running around to do today and a lot of driving. Making tacos and refried beans for dinner. Have a good day out there.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Have a safe trip. Tacos sound amazing. Hummmmm….
Shelly Peterson
Today I have errands to run and then going to see a movie.
Connie: The Head Peanut
What movie did you see?
Ed
Having a good day. Met with some friends this evening to discuss some conflicts between us.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Good Luck Ed.
Elizabeth
Need to do the dishes and wash my hair…
Connie: The Head Peanut
I managed to clean the craftroom bathroom. THAT went a little too long. LOL
Tamra Phelps
Well, we are buried under about a foot and half of snow! And it is so cold that the now is not going to melt for quite a while…
Connie: The Head Peanut
Stay home. Stay warm and keep that crap at your house! LOL (I mean that in the nicest possible way!)
Terri Quick
We’re still digging out from the storm
Connie: The Head Peanut
Stay home. Stay warm and as I told Tamra, keep that stuff there! Ewwwwwwwwww.
l p
the day is going well. up early to start the bread and rolls, while they were rising, went to an appointment, had breakfast, shaped and set the dough to rise again, off to another appointment, came home for lunch and finish the baking, then off to the store to replace some pantry items getting low. I’m thankful the appointments were on time and the dough didn’t feel rushed. enjoy your day. thanks.
Connie: The Head Peanut
WOW, you have been so busy! WOW!
Rose
Spent quite a bit of time outside and shoveling, or alking with the contractors. The snow plower took a huge chunk of the corner of the garage building, and the lintel across a garage was hanging with no brick under it. Had sent pics to the property manager. I had to finish shoveling out the fire hydrant today, it was buried with very high snow plowed from the street. And then also did outside stairs, etc. I’m still wet from the snow and feeling chilly, from my pants from jumping into snowbanks several feet high to snow that got down my neck past my scarf and hat! So had some soup and homemade buns. The buns were made with white whole wheat and are good!
Connie: The Head Peanut
OH MY GOSH!!! Rose! WOW! Stay inside and stay warm. YIKES
Kate Sarsfield
Another late night/early morning searching for more info on the awful situation in Minneapolis. It’s horrendous. Spent the day just doing the usual chores and bathing Bryn’s eye. He’s got a cold and his eye is runny and red.
DeeAnn
finally got my car cleared off after this 14″ snowmagenon! Guess the driveway’s next!
Connie: The Head Peanut
HOLY MOLY!! I keep saying this but WOW Stay inside. Stay warm. Hopefully it’s over?
Michele Soyer
Getting ready to make the trip out to the food bank…Decided on Monday afternoons at the food bank and Wed late afternoon at the soup kitchen…when my neighbor found out she decided to come with me! so great we can volunteer together and I don’t have to uber… we boomers have so much to be thankful for – the lives we had – giving back is something we all should do if we are able….
Kate Sarsfield
Welll done you! Our marching days may be over, but we can still do our bit to help society.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Michele, that’s awesome!
heather
I am doing some serious online shopping today for a loved one’s upcoming birthday. She is a big Willie Nelson fan so I am ordering a lot of Willie items. Have a great Monday out there and stay warm.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Oh my gosh. My son is a huge Willie fan. He really is a legend for all ages.
Shelly Peterson
The weekend went by fast, as usual. Today I have dialysis.
Ed
Had a good day but disappointed the Broncos lost to the Patriots.
Shannon Mitchell
Still cold here but better than yesterday. Trying to look on the bright side it’s all snow and not ice.
Terri Quick
We’re snowed in here
l p
the day is going well. weather’s not bad at all here. I hope everyone is able to stay safe and warm.
enjoy your day. thanks
Elizabeth
Heading home after a nice SF stay, hope it’s warmer there!
Kate Sarsfield
I stayed awake till 6.30am waiting for one of the cats to come home. I went out every half hour calling him. It was cold & wet so no way was I going to leave him out. When I got in the last time, I went to the loo & there he was, curled up fast asleep in the laundry basket. AGH!!! These guys really are in charge around here!
Michele Soyer
It is 0 degrees right now which is warm considering what is coming later on…To be honest I am sitting in sadness over yesterdays events here…I never ever thought the US would come to this….I just can’t stand it ….my roast is the oven and mass on utube is over so I have to get myself out of this cloud of grey and try to move on with day – Ido not feel like music or dancing around either.
Hope all in the way of the storm are doing alright, stay safe and warm…..
Tamra Phelps
You are not alone, Michele! But I feel like they have vastly underestimated Minneapolis! They thought Minnesotans are nice, we can walk all over them. But truly kind people are kind because they made a choice to be so, they have decided to be nice because they have strong ideas of right and wrong. And generally those are the people who will stand up for right over wrong! Those are the very people who will never be defeated! I know this will be horrible while it lasts, but it will end and justice will come.
Michele Soyer
I feel so at home with the people here – they are strong, kind. straight forward and very good neighbors… I agree when I am not down that this will end and some will be accountable for their deeds…
Kate Sarsfield
Just seen this. Michele, we only get the headlines over here, for more info I was on social media for hours last night & saw the video etc. That poor man hadn’t a chance against that unruly ICE mob. The thousands and thousands protesting gives me hope though and I hope the all-out strike goes ahead. What the hell has America come to?
DeeAnn
Cold and snowy! Isit Spring yet!!!
Rose
Snow is coming down hard, and it is 5 degrees out. Expect to stay put. I do plan on going out later to shovel a 3′ space around the fire hydrant. The hardest part is where the town plows it high. I never got groceries, as I want to start using up things I got to tide over in power outages, etc. for the winter. My Temu delivery came early this morning I was shocked. They have really cute refillable perfume spray bottles, that I got a few for my homemade scents. That is a way to use some of the essential oils and fragrance oils that I have for the soap, can use some instead of buying perfume – that’s the plan, anyway. Just hope we don’t lose power, it is going to get too cold fast to stay here.
heather
It’s 24 degrees here at the moment so I am just heating up the house. It’s still dark out here right now but it should get up to 55 degrees here today. We have not had a winter here yet it just gets super cold at night. Hope you have a peaceful Sunday. I am doing very little today I need to rest been running around all week.
Shelly Peterson
Today I have cleaning to do and then I will be watching the Hawks game.
l p
the day is going well. made dinner and cleaned the kitchen and bathroom so now I’m curling up with a good book and some lovely music. enjoy your day. thanks
Terri Quick
I’m just relaxing & getting take out pizza for dinner
Ed
Having a good day. Looking forward to working the Jets game tonight.
Shannon Mitchell
It’s very cold and snowing here today. I’m cuddling up in a warm blanket, not going outside.
Kate Sarsfield
Got most of the sheet music printed off to properly work on before the next rehearsal. Other than that, not done much really. Three out of four cats are sneezing – just hope it’s just a cold.
Elizabeth
Pretty tired today, but I’ll be happy to meet my best friend for a show and pastries afterward!
Rose
I’m making pizzas. One for today, the other two to be frozen before cooking. I’m trying white whole wheat for the crust – guilt-free healthy-ish pizza…?
Polly Hall
20 below last night here, woke up to frost on the front and back door windows, that was a first. Thank goodness for the new windows they were frost free.
Michele Soyer
It has been extremely cold here these past few days so staying put – definitely no turns around the complex..I have found a food bank to volunteer in and also a “soup kitchen” for want of another more politically correct name to volunteer in….I will organize to volunteer one day in each because I will have to uber to them…
Starting next week in both…Today making dough to freeze for pizzas, meat patties, calzone etc…
Then doing some language lessons ( I am so behind ) my book and in this weather a single malt..
Everyone in the path of the ice storm please stay safe and warm….
Tamra Phelps
You are going to be busy, Michele!
heather
I am planning on doing work around the house today. Gotta haul firewood so that should be the opposite of fun!
Shelly Peterson
Today I don’t have much going on. I’m hoping to sleep in.
Ed
Having a good day, but the temps outside are absolutely frigid!
Tamra Phelps
We are all just sitting around waiting for the snow and ice to come…will we get 5 or 6 inches, which is bad enough, or will we see over a foot of snow, like they say is possible??? oh, and ice, too. Ugh. I hate big storms like this.
Terri Quick
It’s so cold here so we’re all just trying to stay warm
Shannon Mitchell
I’ve been preparing as much as possible for the Winter storm headed this way, by covering up windows that seem to be letting cold air in. Stocked up on groceries yesterday, doing all the laundry today. I know how bad Ice storms are, we’ve lost power before due to the ice, everyone stay safe.
Kate Sarsfield
Got a load of laundry done today. Just as well, was running out of decent bras! Finally got PDFs of the sheet music for the choir so I’ll go to the library tomorrow to print it off.
l p
the day is going well. a few appointments that I had later in the day worked out well. happy to be home with a hot cuppa. enjoy your day. thanks
Connie: The Head Peanut
Excellent. I woke up to bright blue sky and SUNSHINE!! It’s cold as all get-out but it’s beautiful.
Elizabeth
Off on the bus to take Caltrain to San Francisco Sketchfest…
Connie: The Head Peanut
Have FUN!!!!
heather
I have to make a trip today to see my insurance agent there goes more money $$$. Then a trip to the store. Hope you have a nice Friday.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Ewww! Hopefully, it’s not a LOT of $$.
Shelly Peterson
Happy Friday! Today I have dialysis and the grandkids will be over.
Connie: The Head Peanut
The grands make everything better. Big HUGS!
Elizabeth
Gotta run errands and pack for tomorrow…
Connie: The Head Peanut
Have a fun time!!
Terri Quick
There are more snow storms here
Connie: The Head Peanut
Stay safe. Stay WARM!
DeeAnn
getting stuff together before the big snow storm this weekend.
Connie: The Head Peanut
DeeAnn, I hope you aren’t in what they are calling the Ice Band? That sounds nasty. Well, they all sound nasty. Stay Safe, Stay Warm.
l p
the day is going well. the house is full of joyous activity. new neighbours moving in so they are using my place as ‘headquarters’. not the greatest day weather-wise but they know they can come here for a break. enjoy your day. thanks
Connie: The Head Peanut
You are THE PERFECT Neighbor! What a wonderful thing for you to do. Ewwwwww I am so glad I am not moving. Let alone moving in the winter. YUCK
Kate Sarsfield
BTW, Connie, how’s Bear doing?
Kate Sarsfield
You’d think that after a long day & being really tired that sleep would come easily. Not a bit of it! Oh, fickle sleep, you eluded me once again! Still awake at 5.30, slept till 7, let 2 cats out, woken at 8.30, let the other 2 cats out & 1 in, slept till 10, let 2 more cats in, then woken by Bryn knocking my phone of the bedside locker. Fed 3 cats, let 2 out, let 1 in & fed that one, fed self & checked to-do list. Now time to properly get up and all 4 cats are fast asleep. AGH!!!
Kate Sarsfield
BTW, Connie, how’s Bear doing?
Connie: The Head Peanut
Miss Bear is doing really well. The vet said she just has a stubborn bladder infection that was immune to some of the antibiotics. So she is on a TWO WEEK blast of antibiotics. She has 2 days to go. Then we go in for another bladder ultrasound to see if the blood that lined the bladder is gone. She is such a good girl. Laid down. Let the vet poor the jelly stuff all over her…. move the wand around. Bear just laid there. She is such a mellow dog.
Kate Sarsfield
Oh good, glad she’s doing better! She sounds so chilled! Bet you’re glad you didn’t get a chihuahua 🙂
Connie: The Head Peanut
ROFLMAO!!!!!!!!!!! Your cats my dog….. they know who is in charge. It is NOT us.
heather
I took almost a week off of the computer and I feel refreshed. Now I need to sort through a million emails but it was worth it. Have a great day and touch grass if you can (the kind that grows in the yard). lol
Connie: The Head Peanut
This made me snort laugh. Thank you Heather. A week off? I dunnnnnno if I could. I SHOULD take a month off of Amazon and Instagram. GESH!! I did see a challenge on Instagram though that I am going to do. For Lent, go in your closet and take ONE item a day and put it in the giveaway pile. Challenge accepted. My closet is out of control.
Shelly Peterson
Today I have a dr. appointment. Then later the grandkids are coming over.
Ed
Having a good day. Had a good appointment for my daughter this afternoon.
Tamra Phelps
Snow today, really cold. Then snow melted, but still ice cold, so icy out there. And more snow is coming, possibly a big one. Ugh. How long until Spring???
Connie: The Head Peanut
Tamra, are you in that ICE BELT snowstorm coming? Any storm is bad but that one says power will go out. Stay safe. Stay warm.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Tamra, are you in that ICE BELT snowstorm coming? Any storm is bad but that one says power will go out. Stay safe. Stay warm.
Kate Sarsfield
The end of a very long day. Left the house at 12, did the weekly shopping except for frozen stuff, then on to the rescue centre. Mad dash to choir, picked up some frozen veg & fruit and got home at 8.45pm. Hope the boys let me sleep tonight!
Connie: The Head Peanut
WOW that is a long day. Spoiler alert, I already read that they in fact did not let you sleep. Better luck tonight.
Elizabeth
Got delayed, so I’m on the bus to see how many errands I can run before dark.
l p
the day is going well. lots of phone calls today and they all ended positively so that’s great. now to cleaning the bathroom. enjoy your day. thanks
Connie: The Head Peanut
Cleaning bathrooms is on my list of todo today. Yesterday was stripping the bed and washing all the winter stuff. Duvet covers, quilts all of it. YUCK!!
Shannon Mitchell
It’s going okay so far, it’s warmer today, but a Winter storm is coming with snow on Saturday.
Terri Quick
Happy Wednesday everyone
Michele Soyer
Great morning so far.. did a 3 mile walking workout then 2 small loads of wash and cleaned the bathrooms…It is snowing so going to take a small turn around the complex then put on a pot of stew for lunch…Feeling, as usual grateful for my life and so concerned about others not having a pleasant time right now….Trying to find a food pantry to volunteer in – none that are in walking distance so I need to look further…
Connie: The Head Peanut
WOW Michele, you have already accomplished more than I have this morning. GREAT job! So far, I’m in a never-ending loop trying to get Miss Bears prescription refilled. Grrrrrr
Shelly Peterson
Today I have dialysis and the grandkids are coming over.
Shelly Peterson
Today I spent time with my daughter and grandkids.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Excellent way to spend a day.
Tamra Phelps
The new housekeeping aide showed up today, helped me get the trash taken out, etc. So that was a nice surprise. It will help out a lot.
Michele Soyer
So glad that you got help!!
Connie: The Head Peanut
Ohhh Tamra, that’s awesome! I’m so glad.
Kate Sarsfield
Hooray! Something good’s happened to you at last.
Elizabeth
Kinda stressed out, going to start dinner…
Connie: The Head Peanut
Elizabeth, I’m sorry your stressed out. Time for wine, book and curl up on the couch??
l p
the day is going well. spent the morning volunteering and then did some grocery shopping. it’s cold out there but mercifully, the wind has calmed down. enjoy your day. thanks
Connie: The Head Peanut
Ohhh it’s that wind! I can handle the cold okay but add that wind? Nope. No thank you.
Terri Quick
The antibiotics broke me out into a rash. Thankfully I’m almost done taking those
Michele Soyer
Enjoyed the birthday dinner out last evening even though it was -7..today is another – day so walking is not an option…
Nothing to do around here except run the vacuum and fidure out lunch…
All i want to do is finish my book and then paint…
Happy Monday to you all…
Connie: The Head Peanut
MINUS 7!?!? Noooooo I’m with you. I’m not going outside. Nope. Stay warm.
Kate Sarsfield
Lots of things to do today: buy more catfood, get a sack of turf in for the fire, find the WD40 for my wheelbarrow, order meds, get some cash, sort clothes for tomorrow (grubby workclothes & black top and trousers for a promotional photo for choir), put anti-freeze in the car, oh, and sing, sing, sing!
Connie: The Head Peanut
WOW! You are getting ready for a busy busy day. I can’t wait to see pictures!
Rose
I started on making some soaps for Valentine’s Day, just for a few people. The combo I did yesterday to work on more today have Satsuma and Ylang Ylang essential oil.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Oh Rose! I can almost smell the delicious soaps.
Rose
I put together soaps that are lavender with ones that are the orange, in a container with an orange edge. It is a pretty combo. We are going to have a big storm this weekend, and very cold, I want to do a few more for Valentine’s for the elderly ladies here. I try to do something for them, heart cookies one year. I make the gift bags with white paper and white ribbon. I’ve done various styles, via youtube, sometimes can use gift wrap. It is cost effective to make them, as I get most on sale, but it does still cost a lot to use good products, etc.
Connie: The Head Peanut
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH ROSE! I imagine the lavender and orange would be fantastic. I bet they are beautiful. You are such a sweetheart. I bet your ladies love you. Are you in the ICE zone for this new storm coming? Stay safe. Stay WARM!
I can’t believe the winter we have had. My snow is almost all gone. IN IDAHO!! Northern IDAHO… like 30 miles from Canada Idaho! What is HAPPENING?! AND PLEASE Mother Nature do not take this as a complaint or a dare. I’m fine. Honest.
Ed
Having a good day. Getting ready to watch the Jets and Blackhawks!
Connie: The Head Peanut
Excellent. And watching but not working? That makes for a better day.
Elizabeth
Had a lovely lunch with my mom and one of our friends…
Connie: The Head Peanut
Oh how fun! I do miss lunch with my Mom.
Rose
Yes, we are, and then the 0 degree weather following. I’ve been checking on some elderly people and then calling their relatives…. the condo manager emailed me about some things for this upcoming storm, as I said I would keep an eye on things. We have many people in their 80s to mid-90s, or disabled. And they are old buildings in bad shape. If we lose power or the boiler blows, lots of crazy things happening.
Terri Quick
It’s cold & windy here so just staying home
Connie: The Head Peanut
A hot cuppa, book, and relax. WAY better than going out in the cold, especially when it’s windy.
Kate Sarsfield
Slept till lunchtime thanks to the cats all wanting to go out & in again in the early hours. I had planned on putting up some shelves, but ended up getting some quotes for my car insurance due on Valentine’s Day.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Quotes aren’t as fun but necessary. Shelves later this week? Maybe. I have ALMOST got my craftroom organized again. Whew!
Tamra Phelps
Monday, Monday. That song is in my head, lol. I’ve been waiting for a week for the people who are supposed to start coming to help me with things I can’t do (like clean in places I can’t reach, etc.)–they are supposed to call to schedule a first appointment to take stock of things I need, but so far they haven’t. Oh, well, it will be a big help when it starts. Insurance covers it since I’m in a wheelchair.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Tamra, THAT is awesome I mean the insurance covering it part, NOT the fact that they haven’t set up your appointment yet. AND THANK YOU VERY MUCH MISSSSY! Now that song is IN MY HEAD
l p
the day is going well. the house is filled with the lovely fragrance of making/baking bread. enjoy your day. thanks
Connie: The Head Peanut
Ahhhhh Monday bread making day…. I bet your house does smell amazing.
Michele Soyer
Had a lovely visit from a friend I made while living in Houston..He went to iowa for a family reuntion and since it was only (lol) a 5 hour drive here he made the trip…had a lovely time together even though with the situation here we couldn’t go into Minneapolis – got a chance to put on those heels for dinner out…today is my neighbor galpals birthday so with another friend out for dinner again…
Everyone here have a pleasant day and a great week ahead….
Connie: The Head Peanut
Michele, THAT is a great friend. ONLY 5 hours away. Have a wonderful week.
Rose
Listening to the town’s Martin Luther King program. I wasn’t going to drive, and too slippery to walk, so listening online. Great we can do that.
Connie: The Head Peanut
I really dislike driving our muddy, icy road right now. Listening on line is so nice.
Shelly Peterson
It’s Monday and back to dialysis I go.
Connie: The Head Peanut
{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{Big hugs Shelly}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}
Elizabeth
Having more coffee while I try to figure out my plan…
Connie: The Head Peanut
I have already done an hour in the craftroom. Doing a reset after all the Christmas crafting. This room looked like a tornado hit…. came back and hit it again. It’s getting better. I hope your plan for today is doing something you enjoy!
l p
the day is going well. out volunteering this morning. was offered a ride and it was gratefully accepted. the weather isn’t the greatest, especially for walking. last night’s concert was great – lots of energy. enjoy your day. thanks
Connie: The Head Peanut
Excellent!! Have a wonderful day.
Kate Sarsfield
Bit busier today & things ticked off the to-do list. Went for a little walk (with the cats following behind). There’s real signs of Spring happening all around me in the garden & the fields. Tired of feeling cold.
Connie: The Head Peanut
OHMYGOSH Kate, you might be the only person I have ever known that could walk a cat! I bet that is a fun sight.
Kate Sarsfield
I started them off on halters & leads till they got acclimatised to their surroundings. Now, whenever I go for a stroll, Loki & Bryn follow me, Mellyn follows them and Oreo keeps her distance but curiosity gets the better of her! They all know ‘CAR COMING’ & dash into the hedges!
Connie: The Head Peanut
I am so amazed. I imagine this really is the best thing to watch. Cats are so smart.
Terri Quick
I think my ear infection is starting to finally clear up
Connie: The Head Peanut
That’s great news Terri. Hopefully it will be completely gone asap.
Rose
Another snowstorm just started, more snow all day. It was so quiet yesterday with the snow falling, nice!!
Connie: The Head Peanut
We have the weirdest sky right now darkkkk skies all around a blue patch. No snow in my forecast right now.
Shelly Peterson
Today I have a lot of cleaning to do.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Me too. HOWEVER, I decided NOT today! Monday. Today I’m playing in the craftroom.
Tamra Phelps
Did I mention how over cold weather I feel??? Geeze, I must be really old because I just can’t hack cold anymore! I need sunight and warmth, lol.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Tamra, I am RIGHT there with you. I want sunshine. I want warm breezes. Please.
Terri Quick
I’m just relaxing at home today
Connie: The Head Peanut
I’m enjoying craftoom time. Ahhhhhhhhh I will be so relaxed AFTER I put this room back together again.
Kate Sarsfield
Haven’t done very much of anything today, just the usual cat-related chores.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Excellent. I bet you are itchin’ for planting weather.
Kate Sarsfield
Honestly Connie, there’s still so much to do on the house, but I have to put it off till it’s warmer. I know myself only too well; as soon as it heats up a bit, I’ll be out in the garden instead,
Connie: The Head Peanut
Are you like me? I start a project and think…. ohhhh this should be done too… So my to do list never seems to get shorter.
Ed
Having a good day. Looking forward to working the Jets game tonight. Hopefully they win their 5th straight game!
l p
the day is going well. cleaned out a couple of cupboards and going to a concert later on. should be good. enjoy your day. thanks
Elizabeth
Heading to San Jose on the bus, hoping there’s time to stop for coffee first!
Shelly Peterson
Today I am going to my sons to watch the Seahawks game.
Elizabeth

heather
Happy Friday! I am doing work around the house today need to haul wood and catch up on laundry. Nothing too exciting.
Connie: The Head Peanut
ohhhh I do not like HAUL wood DAY! Have fun! Today I cleaned the sliding glass doors. They are so shiny and clear. Then I cleaned the elevator. THAT was work. I tried that Bees Wax spray on the plexiglass…. ummmm THAT made the job soooooooooo much harder. Next time windex. THEN! Cleaning the floor of the elevator I dumped the water bucket all over the carpet in the craftroom. Well, I did want to clean the carpet. No excuse now. Grrrrr… maybe hauling wood today would have been a way better idea.
You guys are supposed to be SUPER cold this weekend. Stay warm.
Kate Sarsfield
Found the cat sick! Into town to get my new car battery – yay! Let’s see if this sorts the starting problem. Going for a nap now – lots of bad nights this week thanks to the cats.
Rose
I started reading about making your own fragrances. I have quite a bit for soap making, and I never knew about perfumer’s alcohol, etc. to make your own decently. I’m excited to try it, as any perfumes I like cost a lot.
Shelly Peterson
Happy Friday! Today I have dialysis and also the grandkids will be over for the day.
Ed
Had a good day today. Tomorrow is Friday- yay!
Elizabeth
Off to get my night guard from the dentist…
Terri Quick
I’m taking my meds & resting today

DeeAnn

Michele Soyer
I had no plans of going out yesterday then in the late afternoon my galpal called to say she was antsy sooooo lets go to the Asian Market, Costco and just knock about a bit…so off we went with the evening ending with a sandwich and a coffee – safe here in the suburbs…..
Kate Sarsfield
Feeling VERY frustrated. I was woken up at 4am to the sound of a cat puking. Turned over & when I finally got up, went in search of the dreaded hairball … I CAN’T FIND IT!!! Perhaps I dreamt it?
heather
This week is flying by so fast for me I can’t believe it’s already Thursday. I have to make a trip to the deli today to get some meats and salads.
Shelly Peterson
Today I have the grandkids coming over for the day.
Ed
Had a good day, Lookkng forward to some warmer temps tomorrow.
Tamra Phelps
Well, it has started snowing here. I’m not sure how much they are calling for, but my fingers are crossed for just a light snow, lol.
Terri Quick
I have an inner ear infection so I’m on antibiotics & Claratin D
Ed
Having a good day. Looking forward to an Anniversary celebration this afternoon.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Excellent! Happy Anniversary.
Kate Sarsfield
Ugh! It poured rain all day while at the centre so ended up at my audition muddy, grubby & damp! Still, I am now a second alto with BellaCapella and am really looking forward to next week’s session. It’s been a very long day though & I’m pooped and achy.
Tamra Phelps
Yay! I’m happy for you!
Kate Sarsfield
Thanks Tamra! It felt so good to be singing again, you’ve no idea, but then memories came flooding back of singing harmony with Mum … still, happy memories.
Michele Soyer
Great news! Good for you…
l p
the day is going well. sun’s shining so I don’t have to turn the furnace on – yet. lots of busy-work today. maybe tomorrow will be less demanding. we shall see. enjoy your day. thanks
Elizabeth
I’m like Bart Simpson today, running around to redeem free birthday goods and services!
Michele Soyer
Good start to the day..did my 3 mile walking workout, ran the vacuum, did a load of wash, set some bread to raise…got off zoom for a quick chat with an old friend and now to put on a pot of soup relax for a bit with my book and music…trying hard to block everything else going on out!
Connie: The Head Peanut
Michele! The Energizer Bunny. I have gotten up. Put on work closes. Started a load of laundry and now sitting here reading comments. YOU are a ROCK STAR! I am a slug.
Michele Soyer
Not true.. I am just nuts! LOL
Rose
I tried making my own white chocolate with cocoa butter. Not bad, but not as good as store bought. I’d have to spin it for like 5 minutes so it isn’t as smooth, but good enough to put in cookies! Also, I made my own cinnamon chips with cocoa butter, also, and used them in cookies. That came out pretty good ! I have organic cocoa butter to use, so experimented with it.
Connie: The Head Peanut
That sounds DELICIOUS!!!
heather
You know you’re getting old when you clean the house and still feel like you were hit by a truck three days later. I really over did it the other day come to think of it the list of things I did was long. At least the house is nice and clean love me the smell of bleach it is seriously one of my favorite smells. lol
Connie: The Head Peanut
Heather I am right there with you. So far I’ve cleaned MOST of the main floor. Kitchen, bathroom and livingroom. That was last week, before the bug hit me. I was on such a roll. Next week will be better maybe finish the main floor. THEN to the craftroom which is a MESS!
Shelly Peterson
It’s Wednesday, just a regular day of dialysis.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Big HUGS Shelly!
Tamra Phelps
Poor Bear! I hope she feels better, Connie. Bear and I are in the same boat, lol. UTIs are no fun at all.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Bear is feeling better. Still no word on the test results. BUT at least (for right now) the 3rd round of antibiotics has cleared up the blood in her urine.
Terri Quick
I have to go & get my ear checked. There might be something wrong with it.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Ackkk! Terri, I hope it’s a quick easy fix.
Kate Sarsfield
Busy day today, once I actually got moving. The bed is so cosy & warm! Headed to the library to print off a letter to my private pension crowd. There’s been a mix-up & I’ve had to re-apply for my lump sum to be released etc. Hope it gets sorted this time; it’s worth nearly $28,000!!! Have to think whether I need a new car or a shower …
Connie: The Head Peanut
Kate, good luck with the pension. Ohhhh a new car or a shower…… ohhh that would be a hard one.
Elizabeth
It was a bit tricky getting to the bus today, but I’m on the way to my podiatrist…
Connie: The Head Peanut
Excellent. Have a safe trip.
Michele Soyer
Planned on making a trip to the Art Institute today but no way will I go into Minneapolis…I am so upset ,angry and sad as to what is going on here.. change of plans – a quick turn around the complex, a 2 mile walking workout and then some chair yoga…I think i need to make some Italian food and listen to some gong therapy with a wee bit of single malt later on this afternoon….
Connie: The Head Peanut
THAT sounds like a perfect substitution.
heather
Just getting things going here this morning sure is cold out here. We haven’t really had a winter yet here which has us all worried we need a good snowpack ahead of fire season.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Heather SAME HERE! I think we said the same exact thing last winter. But, this one seems even weirder. Snow here is melting so fast. And none forecast for the near future. NOW, with that whine…. PLEASE NO SNOW until we get back from Spokane tomorrow. PLEASE!
Rose
Gorgeous day out today! Planning to go out to get a few errands done.
Shelly Peterson
Today I have some errands to run and having lunch with my daughter.
Ed
Had a good day. Just hanging out at home now
Connie: The Head Peanut
Hanging out at home is my favorite hobby.
Terri Quick
I hope everyone is having a great start to the week
Elizabeth
Having a slow time getting it together today…
Connie: The Head Peanut
You and me both! All these doctors visits I picked up a stomach bug. I am miserable.
heather
Hope you feel better soon. That is another reason why I hate going to the doctors office especailly during the winter months.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Thank you Heather, I feel MOSTLY human today. Although another 2 more doctor visits today and tomorrow then next week I have nothing. I’m just hoping I stay away from the sick people. MAN! I HATE MS!! AND I wish The Husband could drive! Ahhhhh I’ll settle for just not catching this bug again.
l p
the day is going well. nice to have the entry form back. it’s bread-baking day. so good to have a routine again. enjoy your day. thanks
Connie: The Head Peanut
One of these days I am going to have a bread baking day. I found one on Instagram to try. Do you even need a recipe anymore?
Kate Sarsfield
I woke up to find the bed & carpet covered in black feathers. Still haven’t found what’s left of the poor thing. It could be anywhere.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Ohhhhh no! Poor thing
Bad kitties.
Tamra Phelps
The form seems to be working today for me, so that’s nice, lol. Not a lot going on here. It’s so cold!!
Connie: The Head Peanut
I was so sick yesterday I didn’t even pop on to check anything. I’m so sorry. Glad it’s working now. Now if I can kick this bug!
heather
Happy to see the form is back up woohoo. Hope you have a great day out there today. I am working around the house today been putting off a few things.
Connie: The Head Peanut
I would love to get on a cleaning role. Maybe tomorrow.
Shelly Peterson
The form is finally loading but doesn’t let you do daily entries. It’s as if I already did them.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Seriously! Does this form ever work for an entire month? Ackkkkkk I’m so sorry
Tamra Phelps
Form won’t load for me today. But I see it’s happening to others, too, so at least I know it’s not just me, lol.
l p
the day is going quite well. have been working so much on various projects that I’m pretty tired. good thing there wasn’t much to do today. hoping the rest will help with tackling the rest of the week. enjoy your day. thanks
Shannon Mitchell
Form isn’t loading.
Terri Quick
I’m feeling very sad. One of my favorite musicians died 😭
Elizabeth
Put in my eye drops, ate breakfast, and am watching Jacques Pepin now…
Michele Soyer
Got some really nice things yesterday on my shopping expedition and already this morning went to early mass and back with the roast in the oven..
Going to catch up on emails and then read..
Last evening went to hear my neighbor sing at a local club..A drink and some pleasant conversation along with the music…so grateful…
Connie: The Head Peanut
Oh Michelle, that sounds like a fabulous night! Did you have fun?
Michele Soyer
I had a wonderful time!!
Connie: The Head Peanut
Oh I’m so glad to hear that.
Rose
Oh oh, I see the form won’t load, tried different browsers, etc. I hope I don’t forget to try it tonight!!!
Kate Sarsfield
Right, it’s pouring rain & I’m heading out to find the rehearsal hall for the choir so I don’t get lost on Wed. Plus, picking up a couple of torches & a new bedside clock. Bryn has destroyed mine by knocking them onto the floor. It’s how he gets my attention when I’m asleep (or pretending to be) to let him out in the early hours.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Bryn is just a little mense. Good thing he is so cute.
heather
I see the form is down this morning so I will try again later on today. Hope you all have a restful Sunday. I have to make a trip to the overpriced local rural store this morning.
Shelly Peterson
Today I am going to spend time with my daughter and grandkids.
Ed
Having a good day. Slowly taking down Christmas decorations
l p
the day is going well – busy with preparatoins for dinner guests who will soon arrive. enjoy your day. thanks
Terri Quick
It’s kind of stressful today with dealing with my mother & the dogs
Elizabeth
A friend came by earlier, and I hope to run errands soon.
Kate Sarsfield
It’s -6 degrees here (that’s about 21 degrees in your money, if you see what I mean) and damp with it. Ugh! Even too cold for the cats to want to go out! I’ve ordered a new battery for the car – sick & tired of having to charge it every second day or having to go for drives, wasting very expensive petrol. It’s going to pour rain all tomorrow, so I thought I’d head into Castlebar to check out where the choir rehearse so I can time it for next week. Plus, I always get lost in Castlebar! It’s full of one-way systems & roundabouts and It’ll be dark by the time I get there on Wed.
Connie: The Head Peanut
I’m glad you ordered a new battery. Safe travels on Wednesday.
Rose
Getting some cookin’ done today. It is a dark day outside, but I love ’em! Makes me feel extra cozy!
Michele Soyer
Nothing to do at all today but cook so since it is is about 20 degrees right now with no wind chill ( spring right?) after another coffee going for a short walk to the Dollar Tree and Home Goods….want to get some red and white napkins for my Febriuary table…I have a white tablecloth and napkins but want some red contrast….will uber back with my goodies! Happy Saturday all!!
heather
Happy Saturday, I plan on just working around the house today been running around all week. Making country style pork ribs and sauerkraut for dinner been craving it.
Shelly Peterson
I don’t have much planed today. I am making a trip to Costco.
Elizabeth
Just saw the eye doctor and had a late lunch, need to pick up my eye drop prescription.
Tamra Phelps
Nice weather today, but of course it isn’t going to last long. Oh well, I’ll take it. Still tired from my trip to Lexington yesterday.
Terri Quick
I’m just relaxing today
Michele Soyer
Well got up energized so did the laundry and the pressing, vacuumed the place, dusted the furniture, did the bathrooms and changed the bed linens.. Now I want to do the windows outside before the weather gets really cold again…After lunch the inside of the windows and then my chair, music and a book!
Happy Friday to you all…
Connie: The Head Peanut
WOW! Michele, could you send a little of that energy my way?? Good for you.
heather
I am busy getting the house warmed up here this morning. It is chilly here with a capital C. I think it got down to 25 degrees here last night.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Same here. So cold. Ya think it’s too early to beg for spring??
Kate Sarsfield
Yesterday’s comment wasn’t approved! Connie, what happened? Anyway, I was going on about the choir I’m thinking of joining (provided I get the audition & like the ‘vibe’). It’s called BellaCapella & I included a FB reel thingy of them doing a tango – maybe that’s why it wasn’t approved? Check them out for yourselves & see what you think.
Connie: The Head Peanut
I just saw that. It’s on now. I am so sorry.
Kate Sarsfield
Don’t worry! You’ve a lot on your plate at the mo’.
Tamra Phelps
I saw the video on Facebook. Wow! I hope you get to do it!
Shelly Peterson
Happy Friday! I am so ready for the weekend.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Poor Miss Bear has an appointment today for an ultrasound. She has blood in her urine. I think it will be a long weekend here.
Kate Sarsfield
Oh no! Please keep us informed re. Bear & the hubbie xxx
Connie: The Head Peanut
Ultra sound on Miss Bear showed she has NO tumors! I’m SO GLAD! Apparently her urinary infection needs lab work to find an antibiotic that will kill it. We are on the 3rd round! So sending the sample to a big lab to find us a antibiotic that will work. At least she is comfortable for right now.
Ed
Had a good day but then I worked the Jets game tonight. They lost again. Brutal
Connie: The Head Peanut
Next game will be better. Fingers crossed.
Tamra Phelps
It’s been a day. Having to go to a doctor’s appointment in Lexington, and waiting for hours, having tests, just exhausts me. Anyway, not bad news, so at least it will be fine.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Ewwwwwwwww doctor appointments are the worst. Starting today (Friday) and then every single day next week The Husband has doctor appointments. He’s very high maintenance!
I AM SO glad you had no bad news!!!
Terri Quick
The snow is melting here but I think there’s more to come
Connie: The Head Peanut
Our snow melts all gone, then bamb back again. Now I think it’s here to stay.
l p
the day is going well. lots on the to-do list and the goal is to get at least half of them done today. fingers crossed. enjoy your day. thanks
Connie: The Head Peanut
I actually crossed 2 things off my to-do list. ‘Course when there are 45423 things on that list it doesn’t seem very much…. baby steps. LOL
Kate Sarsfield
Ok, re. the choir; it’s called BellaCapella. An all-female voice choir based in a town not far from me. They rehearse on Wed. evenings so I’ll have to go there straight from the rescue centre. Going for an audition plus listen & join in session next Wed. Wish me luck! Here’s a recent post from them: https://www.facebook.com/reel/1223750182968671
Connie: The Head Peanut
GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!! oh my gosh, they sound amazing. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!
Elizabeth
Woke up with goopy eyes; waiting to talk to an eye doctor to find out if it’s this bug, dry eye or pink eye…
Connie: The Head Peanut
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh no!!!!!!!!! AND?? Is it? When one of my kids would come home with pink eye EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. OF. US. would get it. EVERYTIME! Ackkk
Michele Soyer
Have no motivation to do anything at all today…All i want to do is listen to old school from back in my day, have another cup of coffee and , no, not even dance! Have a pleasant day all….
Connie: The Head Peanut
I hear you Michele, I am truly lacking motivation. We need to find it. FAST!
Rose
Wow, it is a gorgeous day today! Finally!! Good day to do the chores I need to go outside to get done. Yippee!
Connie: The Head Peanut
Nope. It’s freezing here. Nope. I do not want to do chores in the snow. LOL
heather
I am waiting to see how much snow our area got as soon as dawn hits here this morning. I am working around the house today have a good one.
Connie: The Head Peanut
I really need some cleaning, organizing time in my house. I just am not motivated.
Shelly Peterson
We got severl inches of snow last night. I hate driving in the snow so I will be staying inside today.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Same here. I don’t want to go out but The Husband has a doctor appointment every single day (well, except the weekend) from today (friday) until next Friday. I HATE WINTER doctor appointments! I also hate having to drive all the way down to Spokane. Normal time is over an hour and half one way. Snowy weather….. AUGGGGGGGGGGGG Oh snow tires do you your thing!
Ed
Had a good day, but am concerned about a number of my friendships these days,
Tamra Phelps
Ah, Michele, I thought of you today when I heard about the news out of Minneapolis. I mean, how much longer are people going to sit still for this? This is the kind of stuff that makes me feel like I need to go listen to Bob Dylan.
Michele Soyer
Tamra they closed schools, Waltz has the guard on stand-by….
I protested back in the 60’s..never went to the deep south but did all the big ones on the east coast..equal rights, Vietnam etc….now I have such a fear that I have not gone out for any of them.. my daughter says that at 75 PLEASE stay put..LOL…I just can’t settle…The ones who could do anything are weak, weak weak…
l p

Elizabeth
Still feeling crummy, hoping someone else can run to the drugstore…
Terri Quick
I’m tired from grocery shopping so I’m just having a frozen pizza for finner
Kate Sarsfield
And … goodbye snow! Now it’s just very cold and damp. You know that damp that gets into your bones? Ugh! I think I’ve found the perfect choir – more anon ..
Tamra Phelps
I wondered if you were looking for a new group to perform with! I bet you miss that.
Michele Soyer
Find that choir and sing loud Kate! I want to hear you all the way across the sea…
Rose
Now we have rain today! Glad it is a little bit warmer, the extreme cold many people their cars don’t start.
Rose
I don’t like taking a reprieve from my crafts, but doing so I get some chores done i otherwise I can justify not doing LOL. Getting out the “to do” list today and going to try to get a couple checked off. It is bad weather, so not going out…. !
Michele Soyer
Happy Belated Birthday Tamra!! I wish you all the best… Well I have danced around the kitchen once again this morning …
More insane news is the world going to sit by and watch… hmmm
Already finished chores and walk and as I said my morning dance to cheer me up..did not work!!
Going to put up a pot of Italian Wedding Soup, take bread out of the freezer and paint…the canvas has been ready for weeks now…
All here have as good a day as you can….
Connie: The Head Peanut
Ohhhhhh have fun! What did you paint??
Michele Soyer
I did one painting of a flamenco dancer all black and red basically ( drama right?) and decided I wanted a companion painitng so doing the same theme with a different angle and costume…
Connie: The Head Peanut
Ohhhh that sounds fabulous!
heather
We had a skunk either under the house or just passing by last night and it sprayed so we had to choke on that smell last night. I can still smell it a little bit this morning. Then… my cat decided she needed to dig out all of her cat toys that have bells in them out of her toy box in the middle of the night last night. Needless to say I only got a couple hours of sleep but not in a row!!!!!!!!
Ed
Felt sick for times during the day. Just home taking it easy.
Tamra Phelps
Oh, boy, remember when birthdays excited us??? Yeah, not so much now, lol. Yikes, is more like it for me!
Terri Quick
I have to go grocery shopping tomorrow
Kate Sarsfield
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TAMRA!!!
Worked on breaking up the ice on my driveway. It slopes down to the road so if the car skids, I’ll end up in the field over the road. Today’s the coldest of winter so far and my Raynaud’s is really playing up so best to keep moving.
Tamra Phelps
Thanks, Kate!! Stay inside, lol. Keep warm.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Happy Belated Birthday Tamra!!!!!!!!!!!!
Elizabeth
I’ve got some crummy throat bug, sigh…
Michele Soyer
Have to shake this off… so I am listening to Taylor Swift and say .. ok..I will shake this off!!

Connie: The Head Peanut

the day is going well and it will continue that way. there’s a lot planned to help mum’s 98th birthday. enjoy your day. thanks
heather
I am doing work at home today. I did a bunch of running around yesterday and had to drive in a crazy snowstorm shook me up a little.
Shelly Peterson
Today I am going to coffee with my sister. Later I have plans to see a movie with my daughter.
Ed
Had a good day for a first day back at work in 2 weeks.
Terri Quick
I’m just running around after my mom & the dogs lol
Kate Sarsfield
We had proper snow last night but by the afternoon it had started to melt. Had to get to the local post office & negotiating my little laneway way tricky. The main road had been gritted so was fine. Another big freeze tonight so I won’t be going anywhere tomorrow.
Rose
More snow starting soon. Not a big accumulation, but enough to keep me off the streets!
Elizabeth
I’ve got laryngitis and wish I had made certain phone calls last week…
l p
the day is going well. bread-baking day so the house has a lovely fragrance. had a late appointment as well. enjoy your day. thanks
Michele Soyer
I have been a state of shock, humiliation and inner turmoil this past days…it was my father’s birthday and if he was allive he would be raging as someone who escaped the same scenerio we are seeing play out….I will shut up now .. so unbelievably sinister this world has become….
Tamra Phelps
I keep telling myself that it will all go back to normal decency soon, Michele. I have to believe that or I would just not be able to get up in the morning.
Michele Soyer
I know…You are right and I try but still I feel well no need to say what I feel…you know..lol
heather
I started watching The Handmaid’s Tale season 1 not sure what I think about it yet. I was disappointed that it is set in modern time I thought it would be set in a time long ago. I need to do some running around later this morning.
Shelly Peterson
Today I am back to dialysis. Glad to be back to my regular schedue.
l p
the day is going well. out early to do some volunteering. on the way home, got some flowers for friend who had an unexpected death in the family. enjoy your day. thanks
Shelly Peterson
It’s another lazy day for me. I did do a little cleaning this morning.
Ed
Having a relaxing day at home before going back to work tomorrow.
Rose
Wow, a whirlwind of a day doing ditzels…. nothing to write about, but needed mini-chores. It was snowing in the morning and is supposed to snow again tomorrow, just enough to stay in if I can. I still want to make some soap gifts, and have been thinking about what to make without having to buy anything additional!
Elizabeth
Forgot the sugar in my pear scones (sigh); I sprinkled more on top and they’re okay, but more like pear-laced biscuits.
Terri Quick
I hope everyone is having a great weekend
Kate Sarsfield
Oh, Mama, it’s turned really cold. Our little bit of snow has turned to ice 3 inches thick with more to come. Main roads are ok but my little road is pretty bad. I’m not budging till Tuesday when it’s due to thaw.
Tamra Phelps
It’s a nice day, blue skies but pretty cold. No snow, anyway. I have to go to Lexington on Thursday (doctor’s appt.), so of course they are calling for rain, lol. Ugh.
heather
I couldn’t sleep at all last night. My eyes slammed open at 12:30am and after about three hours I gave up the battle and just got up! Hope you have a nice Sunday we are getting some much needed rain here no snow yet.
Natalie
I am having a nice relaxing weekend where I do not have any formal plans other than sleeping in!
Terri Quick
I’m enjoying a lazy weekend
Elizabeth
Still waiting for the storm; my mom’s making clam dip (which she only craves once a year).
l p
the day is going well. went out for an early walk and then trying to declutter, espcially the desk. enjoy your day. thanks
Kate Sarsfield
Snow predicted for tonight & tomorrow so made sure the car’s warmed up and I’ve brought logs & turf in from the shed. Settling down to some soup & homemade brown bread (not made by me!).
heather
Happy Saturday hope you have a great one. I have to make a trip to the library later on this morning. Thinking about making tacos for dinner with refried beans on the side been craving it for days now.
Shelly Peterson
I don’t have much going on today. I will probably be lazy.
Rose
Oh oh, I don’t see my comment from yesterday!! Happy New Year, Connie and all peanuts! I don’t dare make a resolution, but I’m trying to be a little more productive in the evening. Many things I only do during daylight, but I need to start doing some at night. Going to look for recipes for cookin’ tomorrow, nothing fancy, but more due to not having too many ingredients. Storms, really cold, have not gone out more than absolutely necessary. Seeing a buddy who is vacationing in Clearwater, looks nice… but I do love the four seasons.
Terri Quick
I hope everyone is having a great start to the new year
Tamra Phelps
Made a trip to the doctor today. Following up on some old issues–no big problems. Next week I head to Lexington for my visit to the oncologist, for a mammogram, etc. Not expecting any problems there, so hopefully all will be well.
Elizabeth
On the bus to run shopping errands (hopefully!) before the big storm hits.
DeeAnn
trying to keep warm, wishng it would get above freezing soon!
Kate Sarsfield
A bit late but Happy New Year to you all! Took a few days offline and feel better for it. It’s gone very cold & we’re due some snow this week. Had a bothersome sniffly nose but it seems to be clearing up.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Happy New Year Kate!
We are getting snow right now. This time it may NOT go away.
I’m glad the sniffly nose is going away.
Michele Soyer
My last few days with the decorations up! BooHoo I love all the pretty things.. anyway tomorrow it starts coming down.. all linens dinnerware then by Sunday the tree and the outside lights…
Hope all is well with everyone here in this year 2026!
Connie: The Head Peanut
This is the first time in 67 years I didn’t do any decorations. NOTHING. I do NOT recommend it. It made for a sad Christmas.
THE only upside, nothing to put away. STILL I do NOT recommend it.
heather
I need to make a trip to my favorite deli this morning to get some deli meats and salads. I sure wish it was closer to me though it’s a 50 mile drive for me roundtrip. I love to listen to a good audiobook on my long drives.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Same here! I am listening to the Eve Dallas In Death series. It’s my absolute favorite. Do you like thrillers? Scary books? My daughter suggested IT (Stephen King) she said it’s really scary. I’m waiting for it to come available in my library.
Shelly Peterson
Happy Friday! I have dialysis today. Glad to have my schedule back to normal.
Connie: The Head Peanut
I should go to the post office. I also have The Husbands rx’s ready to pick up, but it’s snowing like crazy right now. Hopefully this afternoon.
Ed
Had better days. Trying to work through some friendship difficulties at the moment.
Connie: The Head Peanut
I’m sorry Ed. Fingers crossed for you.

the day is going well – I think. with the holidays being in the middle of the week it sets my internal clock a bit off. seems like it should be the week-end. my Christmas decorations usually stay up at least until Jan 6th. having friends over on the 9th so the decorations will be put away on the 10th. enjoy your day. thanks
Tamra Phelps
Hope everyone is having a good year so far, lol. Let’s hope for better days ahead for all.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Tamra, I checked THE DOLLS, they said 2026 is LOOKING UP!!
Tamra Phelps
They’re just happy to be out of the closet and in a home where they are appreciated, lol!
Elizabeth
Thank you so much! About to email you with my card choice, then need to decide whether to make do for dinner or venture out to see what’s open.
Connie: The Head Peanut
Your choice has me DROOLING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Connie: The Head Peanut
Same here. Except, I could HEAR the fireworks but couldn’t see any. Oh well. Happy New Year.
heather
Happy New Year to all! Hope everyone had a great New Year’s Eve. Very best wishes for a wonderful 2026!
Jeff Jayne
Day is going ok. Not much excitement today. Kind of disappointing how nothing is happening today.
Connie: The Head Peanut
It’s going to be a boring day here too. I’m actually okay with that. Happy New Year!
Connie: The Head Peanut
Happy New Year! This one is gonna be AWESOME!
Shelly Peterson
Happy New Year everyone! I fell aslleep before midnight but all the fireworks going off woke me up. So here I am online.
