Have you ever wondered why the game of bingo isn’t really that common to find in casinos? In fact, you cannot really ever play bingo in casinos, which is strange considering it is in essence a type of gambling game. In fact, bingo is one of the fastest rising gambling games in the world, so it does seem strange that it is pretty much non-existent in casinos, which are the de facto No. 1 place for people to gamble, and have been since the 1600s.

Bongo’s Bingo

Well, the main reasons for bingo’s absence from casinos over the years is the fact that it is so incredibly multi-faceted and versatile. What do we mean by this? Well, bingo actually originated as a lottery style game, before it was used in the 1800s as an essential tool in school classrooms across Germany.

Later on bingo became a crucial game to keep the morale of soldiers high, and in the post WWII period it has also been used as an essential way to keep old people busy in care homes. In the 21st century even more uses for bingo have arisen, hence the popularity of something called Bongo’s Bingo. Want to know what it is? Keep reading to find out and play today.

An overview of what Bongo’s Bingo is

With a name like Bongo’s Bingo its bound to be fun, and the good news is that it certainly is! Bongo’s Bingo is basically a bingo and club night fusion, where the good old fashioned game of bingo is blended with live music, dance offs, drinking competitions and a whole load else too. The crowds that go to Bongo’s Bingo events tend to be on the younger side too, as this is something that is definitely aimed at the younger generation.

So, have you ever wished you could get up and boogie in-between the bingo number calls and rounds? Or how about watching live acts such as the Vengaboys whilst crossing your numbers off? You can do all of this and more at Bongo’s Bingo!

The ethos behind Bongo’s Bingo

Bongo’s Bingo was established by two good friends Jonny Lacey and Joshua Burke, who were determined to inject a bit of innovation into the Liverpool clubbing scene, and also flip the script with bingo and get as many young people interested in it as possible. Their idea is completely and utterly centred around the idea of making bingo fun and accessible, and we think they’ve achieved it massively!

In their own words Bongo’s Bingo is, “a crazy mix of traditional bingo, dance-offs, rave intervals, audience participation and countless magical moments”. The ethos is simply to have fun, and maybe win a few prizes along the way too!

A brief history of Bongo’s Bingo

The pair had the idea for Bongo’s Bingo back in 2015, where they staged their first few events in the Baltic Triangle district of Liverpool. The club nights had immediate success, and all sold out very quickly, which led the pair to pursuing a more nationwide operation.

These days there are Bongo’s Bingo nights all over the country, and they have also booked some absolutely huge names like David Hasselhoff.
