LEGOLAND California Tree Lighting 2016
One of my all time favorite TV shows was Castle. The interaction between Kate Becket (Stana Katic) and Richard Castle (Nathan Fillion) entertained me each and every single episode. I was so sad to see that show end. I was giddy though to be able to see Stana Katic in PERSON last night for the LEGOLAND California Christmas Tree lighting ceremony!! First, if you watched Castle you know how stunning Stana is on screen. What you probably didn’t know is that it’s NOT makeup. She is drop dead stunning in person!! HOLY MOLY the woman is gorgeous!!! EVEN UP CLOSE!!! HOLY MOLY!! The People’s Choice award winning actress along with her 5 year old (cute as a BUTTON) niece Sophia helped Santa turn on the world’s largest LEGO Christmas Tree during the 14th annual tree lighting ceremony.The LEGO Christmas tree stands 30-foot tall, is created out of more than 245,000 green DUPLO® bricks, features more than 400 LEGO ornaments and sparkles with more than 11,000 LED lights. In honor of the new Castle Hotel breaking ground in January, Master Model Builders created 15 new LEGO castle ornaments that hung from the enormous LEGO Christmas tree. It’s me, Connie the former Sun Worshiper, giving beauty tips? I know it makes me laugh too!! I have learned a lot in my life. Started with the things I did that were super bad for me; like laying out in the sun day after day until I was that toasty brown! I still love the way suntan look; however, I’m NOT a fan of the aftermath. Now at 58 I have wrinkles and those blasted age spots!! Grrrrr!! Age spots on my jaw-line and the back of my hands are the worst. Children of the 60’s and 70’s did have some great perks! Sun smarts was NOT one of them! I personally had never dreamed of using a sunscreen. Seriously?! 16 years old? Turning 58 was a like million zillion miles away!! (ummm it’s not. It wasn’t! 58 got here a little too fast for my tastes!!) So, in my 58 years here are a few things that I have learned. (Yes, the hard way! But, I did learn) #1. Wear sunscreen religiously. Karma AND Spiders
Karma. It’s one of those things that will come back around and bite you in the tush every single time!! Big Karma, little Karma. Spider Karma. Yup. It came back around to me alright. Here is a little background; my sister’s boyfriend is afraid of spiders. Cracks me UP!! Seriously, I guess I never think of men as being afraid of small rodents or spiders. I always take it for granted that the men in the family catch mice, kill spiders. End of story. Then when I had Grandkids I learned to help them be brave I had to kill my own spiders. I mean really, I out weigh a spider a zillion to one right? Smash it. I just smash it. (Of course I still take off my shoe to do it! I’m not totally crazy brave!!) However, men. Men kill spiders. What a week!! Thanksgiving preparation was exhausting! Shopping, baking, cooking. Then there is the deep cleaning the house.
