• Craft-Room Tuesday

    Craft-Room goodies Knitting

I wanted to share what I am working on in the craft-room. First, I couldn’t take it anymore. Last weeks weird felting thing (truly don’t even know what to call it or where I was going with it!) but, it had to go.  Now it’s a fat Santa. He still needs some work but at least he is no longer a weird whatever that was last week!! I finished Alice’s blanket. It’s soft, cuddly and ohhh sooo warm! I really hated for it to end, but I immediately started another one. I am sooooo addicted to knitting these blankets! Especially since it’s so cold here in Sandpoint. I started working on another cowl in such beautiful colors! I’m really liking these soft yarns. I am testing out some new Cricut cutting blades for my vinyl. Blades can get expensive. So yes, I jumped on 45 of them for under $14! I tested them with glitter vinyl which is the hardest to cut and some just plain ole iron on vinyl. They did a great job! YEAH me!!  I whipped up a couple of new kitchen towels. Then I found a bundle of very cute and highly sarcastic sayings for towels…

  • What’s In The Craft Room NOW??

    felted gnome

I really do have a great excuse for being slow with blog posts. It’s THIS craft room! My craft room calls to me! I head down here around 9am and stay till 3!! Maybe if I moved my desk closer to the stairs and not on the other side of the craft table I wouldn’t get distracted with the shiny, shiny, sooooo shiny projects!! Here is what I’m working on now. Last week I actually had company to craft with me!! My friend Marilee and her daughter and grandgirls were here designing t-shirts!! The vinyls were sooooooo cool!!! Everyone’s was so different and so pretty! My vinyls of course were for Alice. (Duh!) Then the knitting. SO ADDICTED!! Get this, now granted I do use a very chunky yarn for my blankets and only one stitch. But I’m still taking credit for being creative!) I’ve completed 2 blankets. His and hers for The Husband and I. 4 cowls. 3 for me and 1 for The Husband. 2 long scarfs for me. They are so long they twist around my neck TWICE!! So warm!! I am a selfish knitter! HOWEVER!! I have started 2 new blankets for other people for gifts.…

  • Annie’s Craft Classes, I’m Learning to Crochet!!

    Pink Crochet

I’m trying to do something that doesn’t involve the computer. Seriously, I live with this laptop on my knees. I need some off-line time! I was thrilled to be given the opportunity to review a class from Annie’s Crafts. With such a great selections of classes to choose from, it was hard to decide! Knitting, crochet, beading, sewing, quilting and even jewelry making!! I finally chose crochet because I didn’t have the patience or time to learn from my Grandma Jones, the queen of crochet, I regretted that now. Turns out Annie’s on-line class is the next best thing!! Perhaps even better, because when I get frustrated I can turn off the computer and come back later and no one has hurt feelings! Talk about a win, WIN situation! Learn to Crochet is taught by Ellen Gormley, from the second Ellen appears on the screen you can tell she has patience and a passion for crochet. Ellen speaks clearly and slow enough to follow along without having to hit pause every 2 minutes!! Ellen starts the class with instructions about selecting your yarn. Turns out this is a really important step. I admit it, I am stubborn and I tend to…
