• Hello Winter! Is Your Home Ready?!

    Halo Heating Cooling logo

How often do you think about your furnace? I mostly think about my furnace when I am freezing and then it’s mostly just a how high can I turn it before DH yells at me. I’m luckier than most because I live in Southern California where I don’t have to worry about being buried in snow. Although! We did get snow in my area. Not enough that it stuck but it’s SNOW just the same!! In San Diego?!  Having it be 38° during the day made me thankful that I get to stay indoors this weekend! Brrrrr!! So, now that we are in the full blown “I Hate Winter” mode it’s really time to think about your heating system. The last thing you need to do is go stay with the in-laws because your furnace doesn’t work! THE most important item in your home during the winter is an efficient heating system. Of course like just about everyone I know you worry about heating the house without breaking the bank. I want to be WARM. I also don’t want to give SDG&E my entire paycheck.  Thankfully, DH is a fantastic handyman. He is great about changing filters and making sure…

  • Vinyl Art Wall Decals From Timber Artbox

Cuteness Alert!!! Under the Sea Wall Decals!! So cute!! So easy to install too!!  I have created a place at the end of the hallway for all of the Grandkids toys. I found an adorable treasure chest toy box with a little vanity mirror. I fixed the area that is out of the way. But it wasn’t visually appealing; it was just down right blahhh!  I was offered the chance to review Under the Sea Wall Decals from Timber Artbox. OH MY GOODNESS these are super cute!! The decals are not just adorable but super easy to apply. These are bright and colorful stickers that if you take your time and apply to a clean dry wall; they stay PUT!! I haven’t had any problems with the decals peeling off the walls. There are 48 different vinyl stickers on 2 sheets.  The stickers are also waterproof so they would be perfect in the kids bathroom! I started placing the stickers and adding the bubble stickers. I was having so much fun with my design I forgot I was going to keep some for the Grandkids to do. Oh well, this NaNa had fun! The tot’s will just have to be so…

Y’all know my favorite area in California is Yosemite. I love when we go camping. I always come away with hundreds of photographs. One of our favorite spots in Yosemite is at Mirror Lake. The water is so still and so clear that it truly mirrors the splendor that is Yosemite. I was giddy when I found a Getty Image from Photos.com of the rock that we consider OUR SPOT at Mirror Lake. The name Photos.com by Getty Images does not do this site justice. This site is amazing! From posters to canvas and acrylic to aluminum. You can even have stunning images printed on Birchwood!! I was giddy to be offered a chance to review a Getty Image on canvas. I spent days pouring over images. Photos.com makes it easy to search. I was able to sort by size, orientation. I could sort by subject, by photographer, by artist. I could sort by city and by style too. The art. Wow, where to begin!! I started with just a general look around. I was marking favorites right and left. Finally I decided to check out Featured Galleries. When I saw Yosemite I knew I was in serious trouble. 107…
