It’s Scary Outside!
Okay, SOOOOOO I’m actually an enormous chicken!! Who KNEW!??! Well, everyone actually. Especially The Husband when I said I was going to go hike late at night (aka 9pm). He laughed (way too much, I have to add!). As most of you know, I live on a mountain in Sandpoint, Idaho. We have no light pollution. There are no street lights. There are stars and the moon. It is DARK OUTSIDE!! When I say DARK, I mean SCARY D-A-R-K. Can’t see your hand in front of your face kind of dark. In the daylight, there isn’t anywhere I won’t hike. APPARENTLY, this is not the case at night. So, I HAD this BRIGHT idea to beg and plead with the amazing folks over at WOSPORTS (You know them! The company that brought back Trail Cam Fridays! BTW, did you see the fawns last week?? Spoiler alert I said FAWNS!) to test out their Night Vision Binoculars. (Because, THEY will make me brave. Right??) Ummmmm yeah. No. They do not.

From The NOT Too Scary 3rd Floor Deck
This is my first video from the safety of the deck. I KNOW what some of you are saying. Yes, Tamra, Kate, and Heather, I can hear you. “Seriously?!? You create some of the creepiest, scary-looking yard art, and yet you won’t walk the mountain in the dark?!” Ummmm, this is true. I’ve tried several nights already. Watch the video and see just how creepy Lucille looks at night!! (BTW, if you haven’t heard about Lucille, check my Instagram or this month’s giveaway post).
I’m getting a tad better with my filming. I am a work in progress.
The next video is the very first one I made. I apologize in advance for the video. I was just learning how to use these binoculars. The Husband and I are just jabbering along…….. walking the deck.

Are those EYES out there?? Nope. I’m not walking down there.
WOSPORTS Night Vision Binoculars NV400
Here is the important stuff to know about these WOSPORTS night vision binoculars. Optical Zoom to ten times. Digital Zoom to 8 times. The battery lasts 10 hours. I’ve gone out every night to the edge of my walkway. NOT even to the driveway, mind you. I still haven’t put a dent in the battery charge. These binoculars have a photo resolution……. OH WAIT!! I didn’t mention that these binoculars TAKE PHOTOS! AND VIDEOS!! Yes, Photos and videos. I know! I was shocked too. I must live in a cave…… wait….. on a mountain because I didn’t know binoculars did that! Seriously, I did not know you could take NIGHT vision pictures AND videos from your binoculars. (I live a sheltered life!) Photo resolution is 3mp/8mp/16mp. Up to 4k video! WHAT?!? Ummm also voice. Soooooooooo, since I didn’t KNOW these were picking up our voices, you can hear me and The Husband just jabbering away.

The binoculars even tell you bye-bye. This made me smile so much I turned them back on then off just to show The Husband. (He wasn’t as tickled as I was……….. MEN! They just don’t appreciate a polite pair of binoculars)
This is an amazing set of binoculars. With Christmas coming up this would be a fantastic gift for the hunter or camper in your life. Or any outdoors person. These ARE COOL!!!!!
In the meantime, I will attempt to go further than the walkway. Honest. It’s just so scary out there! Watch for new videos on Trail Cam Fridays! Who knows, I may get off the walkway yet!

I love this post. The cartoon picture is a total crack up. I don’t blame you for not hiking at night. We live in a super rural area too and I don’t go out past dark. Lucille scares the hell out of me during the day and the night pics of her are nightmare fuel. I so want a pair of these binoculars I love that they also record audio.
Connie: The Head Peanut
It IS scary out there. And when there is a noise? Nope. Back in the house. No thank you. LOL Lucille cracks me up. I am thinking she needs to move to where the septic is so we never have someone drive over it again. She would look scary there. Maybe face the road? OH MAN I crack myself up!!
